Unforgetable moments in an FTO!

Post by wild_flower »

On the eve of selling my beloved FTO, i caught myself reminiscing about the many memories that it has shared with me or brought to me. :D

so i thought i'd start a thread to find out what memorable events u guys have shared with your machine.

the one that I will always carry happened onli days after I had gotten my fto. Being a fresh P-plater and compounded by the fact that I now own such a hot beast, I thought I owned the road!  Hehehhe can u blame me???

So on that fateful day I was stuck at the lights next to this wht holden, and being young and over enthusiastic at the time , it didn’t occur to me that this car my be a cop car and I decided to take it on!!!! 8O  8O

with the lane infront ending on my part and the guy not slowing down either, I made a VERY close cut into his lane, done DAN DAAANNNN! 8O :!: :!:

No, the sirens didn’t go off, luckily he wasn’t an undercover! But I had pissed him off so bad :? that he continued to tailgate me, high beam me and blare his horn at me for the next 2km!

Mental note: holdens are no-go-zones and always have a PLAN B!

Common guys and gurls!!! Post away! “I ‘ll neva forget……

Boy where do I start ahahahaha most of my memory are involved with the old gangs in the club..... :D

1.) Never forgot my first ever FTO cruise, it was in 02, just 3 of us, Scracy, Will, & I. And end up doing something that none of us will ever forget at fish & chips shop down at St Kilda beach

2.) Albert Park cruise Nov 03, it was the first offical cruise for 95% of the Vic members, it was also the most successful cruise Vic ever had, 22 FTO had rocked up, plus family & friends. 8)

3.) Hot4 Photo shoot Nov 03, pics turn out great even with my "dints" & number of members had increase substantially after the article was printed.

4.) Ate an EB V8 on the road 4 times in a row, didn't know it was a V8 until I wind down the window & ask "what you got in your V6" & he replied "Is a V8 with extractor" 8O No wonder Holden raped them on the track back then when it first came out.......

Memorable Moments:

Wakefield....ooh man that was soo cool. Even spinning off the track was cool, albiet a bit freaky.

The last Canberra cruise....had 6 FTO's show up, a dang good turn out for Canberra. Some of the looks we got as we cruised through the city....people just stopping and starring, hehe.

And then there are my many numerous spirited runs through some of the local roads....most notable being Honey Suckle Creek in the Naas Valley.....a great twisty road with incredible mountain scenery, almost got air time on one corner too!

Of course, who can forget how many times little kids and oldies alike shout out "cool car!" when you drive past.

Hehe, yeah......I left behind a convoy of 180's in the dust on a nice sloping corner.

My passenger commented afterwards "did you have to drive with me in the gutter?"

Unfortunatuly my unforgetable memories are not as pleasent as having a sh@g in the front seat...

Mine is getting rear ended by a car traveling about 60km/h whilst I'm stationery and suffering the consequences, ie, car off the road for 10 weeks and me still having neck probs... But overall I still love this car! :D

Don't you hate that, I think lots of members here have experience of being rear end in their FTO by some dude not concentrating on the road.

I can count 5 members in VIC who had this happen to him & her.

I assure you - 6'5" man trying to sh@g in the front seat of an FTO... far from pleasant... 12000 to many drinks... temporary alcohol induced blindness....many bruises...trouble with busfare to Bondi...gimmie my king size bed anyday. :P
