Power difference between years.

Post by f2turbo »

Hey guys, Im new to fto's and was wondering if there is any power difference between the 94-95 and 96-97 gpx mivec manuals?

Also, what, if any, other differences are there between them, apart from body styling? Also, which models come with lsd?

Thanks heaps, ps, if anyone knows of a black manual gpx with under 100 000k's in QLD, let me know!

No power differences as far as I know.

The LSD came standard in the GP Version R and also the limited edition yellow 'car of the year' GPXs which were released. It was an option in standard GPXs. Not sure about non-Mivec ones though...

The Series II FTOs also got airbags (1 or 2) as well...

as far as i know the only power change was between the gr's which grew 2 extra cams per head and i think 140 somthing kw? if you want newer it might be worht getting a quad cam gr as it has a very little power difference and as hisory has showen... less blown engines.

I think the difference between GX's and GR's i very minimal.

I have a GX and have been at a UK rolling road day with a couple of GRs and the results were very similar. I think all the GX gained we different cams and a different ECU map.

i found it a bit confusing how they allegedly increased the power between the pre-facelift GR and the facelift GR(GX?) but not on the GPX's.

seemed a little odd to me :D

GPvR have the same output rating as the GPX, it does have LSD, HID as an extra, but the seats are same as other FTO except it comes in 3 different choice of colour, (Blue, Red & Black) depends on the exterior colour.

It's also lighter due to no climate control, & no sound proof, with the help of a LSD, it is faster on a track.

I have a GX.

Dynoed at around 94kw stock. Thats about 140kw at the flywheel so not much difference to a GPX.
