UAS Strut brace

Does anyone know if the strut brace that UAS is selling on sale for $95 is any good....i knows its probably UAS branded but who do u think makes it?...or is it worth spending another $100 and get a cusco one

Cusco made a few different type, so it depends on which one you talking about.

There's an adjustable & non-adjustable one, & also depends are you using as daily driving or track work.

Well, I have a UAS strut brace, but I have not used any others. I can say that it is certainly noticable when it is not there if you take it off after a while! It makes the whole ride a lot softer and probably more comfortable, and it tends to "tram line" less aswell.

However, when you push on (in a law abiding, sensible and safe way

) then it is noticable sharper.

I don't know how much the Cusco et als are, but lets face it - it is a bar that holds things solid. It is not going to move so unless you are extremely hard-core and use it for extensive track work, then you would never know the difference except you could say that you have "X brand" of strut brace on there. Oh, and your bank account would be a bit lighter for the trouble too.

You could always get a Koni strut brace - Luca got one a while back and is very happy with it.

they took my genuine adjustable cusco strut brace and copied it...
i've been using the original and this one for years...

never had a problem.

Well worth the $95..............and possibly the cheapest effective suspension mod you will make with the exception of changing tyre pressures.

I have had mine for a while, fitted it with stock suspension and noticed the difference straight away when pushing through corners. Even more noticable now with aftermarket suspension.

I have one of theirs fitted on my car - 95 GPX tip as well??? i bought as part of the original group buy....

it definitely does make a difference when cornering hard

.... just remembered one thing - they don't fit if you have ABS

How did u get it fitted on when unique tried and mine didnt.... i just must be unlucky

i'm in there tomorrow getting some work done so i'll clarrify that with them but trust me they fit

Well can u let me know what happens and tell them that i went in 2day and they couldnt do it, i bought a big mouth intake and a air box

I too received a call from UAS.

Could possibly just be a "bad" batch of strut braces.....but big thanks to Steve for letting them check to see if this batch fits his FTO.

$95 is too good an opportunity to pass up....even if I said "no more money on car for two months!"

wonder if the new batch will stay at $95 ...might have to put your name down for one

ummm yes it does...cause my cars got both ABS/TCS and a unique strut brace
the difference is to change brake fluid my strut brace needs to come off, its a tight squeeze between brace and top of reservoir due to the larger brake booster pushing the reservoir further forward and being directly under the strut brace..
at least from memory thats the difference

Its the same deal with the factory strut brace - the brake fluid reservoir is right underneath one end of it. You can get the lid off without removing the brace, but it isn't easy.

Well that's how it is on my car with ABS anyway.

yay - looks gooD!

fitted it tonight, yet to go for a drive.

Anyone know how tight everything needs to be? I tightened the three screws on each side of the plates that keep it pressed to the chassis very tight and then tightened the bolts on each area of the main bar.. anything i need to be wary of?

ill test it on the road tomorrow/
