Sell my car for a 200SX??

Post by spetz »

Hey guys,

I am considering selling my car in favour of a 200SX (S14).

I just want people's opinions on if I should or shouldn't?

These are the factors I am thinking of:
200SX is quicker, with more potential, but I do not like RWD in general.

My car is already quite heavily modified so I would be moving from modified to stock.
The 200 would stay fairly stock...

I am just very confused and don't know what to do :(
I love my car, but a 200 is so much better

its about what you want mate

SR20DET is a very very good engine...

Why do u say that it would stay failr stock- the price of modifactions for a 200 is cheaper and easier to source than those for our FTO's.
a few mods can get u lots of extra power.. FMIC, Manifold, Xorst etc..

Turbo is a differnt world to NA, and the 200 is a strong competitor!

Nice car... I like it a lot :) :)

Yeah i agree with Jester, with even just air intake & exhaust, it will cream your car now. And RWD give you more "feel" on the road, but that also depends on your setup.

It should also easily out handle your current Lancer setup too, because of the 200SX chassis was build for it.

Wasn't it you who was trying to stay N/A??

Seems like an interesting change after spending all the time and money doing an engine conversion on your lancer. Still they are great cars, and like everyone has said awesome potential.

Yeah it was me who wanted to stay NA...
But recently a friend bought a Pulsar GTi-R (modded) which has run flat 12s. I just want power now! I realise the lancer can never ever be close to that.

As for modifications, my lancer is quite wildly modified from outside to inside, suspension etc and I know the S14 wouldn't be like that. Sure I could do some bolt on mods but it'll look the same as any other stock 200

Budget is depending on how much I sell my car for.
I also have some other bits and pieces which I will take out of the car and sell individually as it wont get a higher price in the car.
eg. Recaro seats, Apexi RSM meter, the FTO seats etc.

As for looks, I think the S14 does look quite good already.

I have however just gotten off the phone from Just Cars and they want $3300 to insure it :(

if your insurance is that bad, i am guessing your way under 25 yet...

give young and cool a try i foudn them tobe substatinally cheaper, but still not htat cheap on turbo cars..

stick with your lancer till you can insure a turbo, the amount youll spend on insurance in a few years will = a whole new car :/ only cheap insured turbo cars are gt4's and coupens :/

besides given how much you must of spent on the lancer already, your probibly best of trying to get your value for money from using the car before you sell it :/

I have a mate who has an S14 Silvia 'K's (JDM spec) and I love it. It's an awesome car, and I'd have one in a second.

However it really depends on your personal circumstances. At the moment I only want an N/A car, and the FTO is one of the best of those around. So that's what I got...

It's gone :( - now carless...

I may stick to the lancer actually...
And paladin... $1500 excess? Add another grand to it!
I may stick to NA power...
At least it shocks people

Personally i'd stay with the FTO. A few years back i would've gone the other way. Depends on how much you want a turbo/rwd car. For me the FTO looks good and keeps points on my license and money in the bank.
