im with Just cars and have to pay about 650 for third party. Im thinkink of gettin Comprehensive this yr when its due around July..
Just cars quoted $1750 for comprehensive including 60% NCB.
Boris.. i think ill take a look at young n cool.. maybe will take a look at that $900 place too.
They used to base rates on how long you have had a car in your name, but now apparently they base it on how many years you have been driving.

Ahhh the joys of being over 30
Insured with Famous Classic Car Insurance WA
Full Comp $850
Excess $500 inclusive.... They tried to charge me $500 basic, plus $1000 theft and an additional $2000 for single vehicle accident. So if I were run off the road late at night by a truck my excess would have been $2,500... F**k that, I rang them and negotiated a firm $500 excess, period. No offence guys, but I'll be buggered if after all my years driving without a blemish on my record I'll pay for some little bastard who writes his car off in a race against a wrexy!!!!
Peace

Try Famous they were the cheapest even for me. I've already had to claim a not at fault accident with them and they were great. Phone number 1300 88 60 29. Be aware, if you have an accident they will ask for a copy of your driving record from the RTA, so dont tell porkys when they ask you about any driving offences, it will just give them a reason not to pay if you need to claim..sunraider wrote:im with Just cars and have to pay about 650 for third party. Mboy check your policy conditions carefully. Go to the Excess caluse and check to see if you are being hit with the "Single Vehicle Accident Excess" if you are you will be up for $2000 plus your basic excess, $1000 or $500 if you are in a single vehicle accident, ie skid on a slippery road and end up wrapped around a tree. I had them take that off my policy... You may want to see if you can sweet talk them into doing the same for you. It seem bloody stupid to hit people up for having an accident that doesnt involve anyone else, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought having insurance was to protect yourself against financial ruinMboy wrote:i just got my insurance with them about one month ago. i have an exhaust and stereo...that's it...
excess is $1000, but will go down to $500 in abt 4 months when i turn 25

This is always a chatty topic. It might be worthwhile having either a sticky or a section on Insurance within the forum (unless there already is one I've missed
) Members could share their insurance info with newbies and potential FTO buyers. Possibly a who's good & who's not - some comparisons between companies & states?? Food for thought....

A while back, I had suggested a Newbie Section, where we can put all the common questions like this & orange/yellow dash lights....etc in there, don't know hows that going or what happen to it.

hey kazbah...
so i checked my policy as you suggested, and i see no reference to the "single vehicle accident excess" that you are referring to. There are references to additional excess, but not the one you are referring to. However with that in mind, i shall call them and enquiry about it, so thanks for the heads up.
Also i don't really plan on having an accident..haha...touch wood.
