Hah well after I confidently stated that they existed, there seems to be stuff all info on the net about them. The only thing I can find is that they came in some models of the EA5A Galant / EA5W Legnum.

Kempys show them in their lists of lifter kits, RPW show them in their lists of available extractors (and show a pic of a set of extractors which are obviously for an N/A V6), and this parts listing PDF shows it as well: http://www.nipparts.nl/nl/January&Febru ... 20News.pdf

Other than that, there's not a hell of a lot...

OK got this straight from the horses mouth from a person who helped make the 6A1 series of engines.

Hello Mr. Hughes,

6A13 naturally aspirated engine are SOHC.
As you mentioned below, 6A13 DOHC engine is turbo charged engine only.

OK you win :P

I was beginning to think so anyway. It seems I have a big mouth ... it has to be for my foot to fit in it...

Oh well, you learn something new every day.

HEHE thats OK, I just get kicks out of being annoying :D

But back on the subject.

If the 6A13 SOHC makes 130KW and the 6A12 (Non Mivec) makes around 130KW.

Surely a 6A13 DOHC enigine would make at least 150kw , but with heaps more torque.

Well I wonder if the 6A12 DOHC heads would fit on the 6A13 - you would think so if the MIVEC heads fit as they are supposed to...

I also wonder why Mitsubishi went to the hassle of fitting DOHC heads to the 6A13, and then only used them on the twin turbo motor. Unless, as above, they are just 6A12 heads retrofitted...

Its funny, the NZ new version of the 6A13 N/A only makes 120kw - less than the 6A12 FTO JDM equivalent.

Meh, the amount of wheelspin I've been getting lately (its been wetter than a fish's swimming costume here) makes me wonder why anyone would want more power in a FWD :P

6A13 and TT version will fit
4G93T will fit so long as it's a CE version (you gotta use lancer mounts)
4G63T will fit again so long as it's CE version (evo 4+)

Alternatively, if you have the MIVEC 2.0 already, you can put the 2.5L hybrid 6A13/6A12 with the MIVEC heads and make it go quick without a turbo ;) I am opting for this one!
Yeah, but is it actually done? RPW are not reknowned for always following through with their projects - for one reason or another. And I am not saying they aren't valid reasons!

How much of a problem would be wiring etc with (say) a 4G63?
This is avaiable already by the way.
For a neat $8000 you can have it. Comes with forged internals, ported heads etc etc.
I calculated that, with sending that engine to me from perth, sending my one back (exchange basis), installation, + piggyback computer + tuning should set me back roughly in the $11000+ range.
Add to this stage III cams and all bolt on bits, with my 1000kg... I should be flying!!!
The bad news is I don't have 11K :(
