Forum mods

Post by paladin »

I have to say this becuase i belive it is not said enougth

even though there are a few tiffs on this forum i would like to commend the mods for a job well done.

I have seen some really bad abuses of power in my life on the net (including even editing posts with out tagging it to make users seem like idiots) and i have to say the mods have been doing a fairly good job of things given this is run in their own time and can sometimes be akin to managing a kinder class

now let the flaming commence

No flaming Paladin - I agree totally.

Im fairly new to the scene, but I've got nothing but good things to say about the mods & admin kids. They keep it clean & yep - in their own time.
I do like to come home & chit chat with folks who have a common interest & love for horsepower. Keep it up!

I have stopped posting on a forum where
1. The Administrator replied to someones with the words "that has to be the one of the stupidest posts I have ever read, and believe me I've read a few"

2. When I questioned this reply as being outside the guidelines ie, you never get personal, you do not insult people, because as far as I am concerned when you call someones post stupid you are in essence calling that person stupid which is unacceptable

3. I was immediately "sin binned" for one week without warning which means I couldnt post for that period (I've never posted since and will never again)

4. The administrator proceeded to have a go at me on the forum whilst I couldnt post, therefore rendering me unable to defend myself

Now compare that scenario with here and you can see why I keep coming back. Everyone does an exceptional job even in the tough times. Keep up the good work

Truely this happened to me on another forum, one that shall remain nameless in public, but if anyone is interested you can pm me.... So you see the internet is full of Nazi Administrators who live by the saying "Do as I say, not as I do".... and I think the administrator of the unnamed site is a prime example..

I believe the administrator on the other forum has a "zap" button cos when I asked him if he thought he was in breach of guidelines he say "yep - ZAP" and I was gone!! Maybe look for that key on your keyboard!! Must be there somewhere and it works immediately, I can testify to that

Wouldn't you love one of these in real life, a bit like a remote control... Ignore button for the boss and irritating people, Mute button for kids and husband, Off button for Mother In Law.... and I could go on and on.... Ahhhh that would be the life.
