What do YOU want from FTO Australia?

Post by Ther »

In light of previous and recent events, i would like to pose this question to ALL members.
What do you want from the club and what can WE do to achieve this?.
I would love to hear ideas and views from everyone including Moderators and Commitee members as well..after all we're all in this boat together.

You've beaten me to the punch... I've been agonising over recent events and have wanted to put forward my opinions, but in light of the fact when some people have asked innocent questions like "what is going on here, why is everyone fighting" they get their head bitten off and told to keep out of it. Its a bit hard to keep out when the stuff is being posted on a public forum... What would I like? ..... SOME PEACE AND HARMONY ... Its a car club FFS! If people have issues that cannot be resolved well maybe this isnt the club for them. And before I get totally flammed and abused, I am NOT pointing fingers or accusing ANY ONE OR GROUP OF PEOPLE - JUST GET OVER IT AND GET ON WITH IT!!!!!

*Karen now ducks for cover and awaits the sh*t that will inevtably fall from a great height on her, sigh*

PS. the last time I posted a similar thread about what people do on the site all hell broke lose, so Ther, the very best of luck with this one and I hope you arent subjected to the abuse I was...
Or if you are please feel free to give as good as you get..
Cheers

Ok... Firstly, I think Luca's post regarding the process to follow if you have a grevience is a step in the right direction, however, trying to get people to adhere to it is another story. Do you ban them??? I dont think that is the answer. Mediation through an independent person who is not involved or has no opinion on what has gone on is I think the best way to solve this. It shouldnt be a member of the committee because there seems to be an issue with trust. And I really dont think it should be debated on the public forum, its not good for morale. Anyone want to put their hand up for this one??? That is assuming of course that all parties involved want to solve this. If one or other of them dont then its a total waste of time.

Yes very very tense issue here, it’s not a good idea to ask at the moment as its still in the middle of working progress. My suggestion is to post a question like this when everything is nice & claim. I know it’s hard to hold back, but if everyone start going off here again, it just back to square one.

And also members don’t realizes there are lots of things are missing/deleted or had happen in the past & current, especially at the background. It’s a good thing if you ask me, but it will raise questions to lots of members especially newbies & members who don't log on too often, & it will only further agitate the situation when they want to know what’s going on.

If you read my post at the other thread I had already gave an example on why some member had ask other to stay away until further outcome.

Well..... where do we start .....
First of all can I say this is a CAR CLUB not an episode of days of our lives !
We are all here for the same reason FTO's they are cars we drive them, talk about them, and have fun with them !

We are not here to slander and throw flack at the people who drive them or the people who do there best to keep peace in the club!

Come on people what happened to the days where cruising together was fun and having a bbq and generally being one of the best clubs in Melbourne to be a part of !

I just don't understand how this club has fallen so far apart from each other and so much animosity is in the air ........

We want a club that prides itself on the commitment of members all of our members no matter what race, color or background ... somewhere you can learn about your car and discuss it's good and bad traits with the club and help each other with group buys and other great things that come with the group!

I think we all need to step back for a moment and really think hard about why we are here and then if none of this is registering and you don't want to be here then just walk away leave in peace and enjoy the time you have spent with us !
The Chase is better than the Catch !

Sorry Toni, you might want to be careful here, as this is a National club, & its innocent comment like this had sparked some of the problem at the background, & next thing you know all hell break lose at the front end. I'm not taking your comment out of context, but I’m just letting you know what had happen & it might happen again.

But for all the logical people here, which I’m sure we all are, we know your comments are genuine & for the better of our club

With all due respect, and I'm not taking sides on something I know nothing about, isnt having people post constructive suggestion a benefit here. Someone may just hit on the solution to this ongoing sticky situation. As stated by Luca, you post something on a public forum, be prepared for questions.

(episode 3 coming out on Thursday 18th I believe, I'll be first in line)

I agree with you Kazbah, but lots of members are posting base on emotions at the moment, & thats the point I'm trying to get across.

(I think its 19th of May, but hell yeah if its 18th i'm so there. :D )

U know that I have been to nearly all cruises and meets since i first joined and i enjoy them whether there was only 4 of us :P or 10 of us :D

From my knowledge, no one on this forum is that low to start disrespecting in each other in that way. If i see any signs of that behaivour I will immediately stop being a member of this club.

Getting back to the origional post.

What I want from the club is a free and open forum where we can come together and talk about topics of mutual interest. Usually these should be FTO related but occasionnly we can digress.

So with that in mind...

Permier is about 6:00pm on Wed 18th
Midnight screenings start that night.
General release is the 19th

And yes I will be driving my FTO to the midnight screening.... :)

Wild (got the inside word) Ride. :D

Kev and everyone...
I this this IS the best time to ask this question specially because everything that has happened recently.

If members don't like something lets us hear it...and i mean it.

What do you want done?...this could be that you don't like the color of the website..then how to act upon it...or that you don't like how the club is run , then elaborate on how it should be, how to obtain funds, etc

Thats why i asked...i really want to hear everyones opinions bias or not...but with the opinion there has to be also a backing solution. as i put it in the first post.
What do you want from the club and what can WE do to achieve this?.

I know there is mayor controvercy here but maybe some good can come from it...

I've personalised the site for myself. The colour scheme is pink. I know its a bit girly but at least it's not that crappy blue...

Just a quick note if you do change the color scheme, it might cause a problem for logging in, & this is serious & not stirring up anything, so if you change it, don't go panic & jump & down because you can't log in.

Cheers

Never had a problem before and its been pink for yonks.... I've just changed to green.... To freshen things up I think.... So I'll let you know if it upsets the applecart.... Dont worry Kev I'm not harbouring any hysterical paranoia about being dumped off the site(and please take this as the joke it was intended to be  )

<--- I like blue

And that's just the point. We will never entirely agree on anything (accept our choice in cars) because we are all different people with different oppinions.

Our tolerance levels need to raised if this club is to survive.
