What do YOU do on the site
Ok, I've noticed that things are getting a bit quiet around here, but everytime I come on (a number of times a day) I notice that a lot of people are "on" or have been "on" very recently..... So what do you do when you come in??

I log into this site every morning just after arriving to work, and stay logged in all day long. However, only check it out 3 or 4 times during that 8-9 hours. I try to comment as much as I can, as long as there is no personal chitchat involves too much.
I reckon it could be a great pump up if someone do a DIY for tappet adjustments. This will boost the web site usage incredibly for months. There are lots of people who want to do this, however, not brave enough. Like me, I need bit more info and encouragement, then, I will definitely try the tappets.

I check the forums about 10 or more times a day......I just don't neccesarily post everytime I'm on as I'm only relatively new here and don't know you all.
But I'll be damned if I don't love FTO's........I go around putting flyers on cars too!
Edit: That reminds me..........anyone heard anything more about the new batch of club stickers??

Ok we have 1700+ registered members. Now I know about 90% are inactive but what I think we need to find out is who, in each state, is an active member of the club..... If memory serves me sxcfto is asking the Vic chapter to contirbute to a survey on age, gender, type of vehicle, last FTO get together/cruise they attended, best FTO get together/cruise they attended etc. From this I'm sure she can then ascertain what the Vic members would be most interested in doing. Maybe this should be done by each State Co-ordinators in consultation with the committee. I hope I'm not stepping on anyones toes here by suggesting this, its not my intention, I'm just looking for ways to liven the place up a bit and reduce the number of activities being cancelled due to lack of interest on behalf of the members.....

I try really hard to go to cruises/meets not just for the sake of the club but i generally like to attend. This does take a huge portion of my weekend that I usually have saved for an important chore/errand.
U can probably best put it like this. In general, FTO owners love their car BUT they are generally not CAR enthusiats.
For eg. I attend other cruises organised by other NON FTO clubs but thats because i love the whole car scene. On these cruises i dont usually see that many FTOs.

We all agree that life is getting more hectic and that other clubs other than the FTO club do exist....
We are not saying that you can't attend these in fact we encourage it as you all are aware Im also part of other clubs..
All we are saying is maybe more constructive contributions to events, we ask if you could just respond with a yes or a no so we can organise things such as Autosalon, cruises etc...
It's really hard to stay focused and enthusiastic when we post things and don't get any replies. You see a heap of people have viewed but no one bothers to send a quick reply or there thoughts on the matter ???\
We want to hear from you in fact if we didn't we wouldnt have a forum !

What i don't get is the need for there to be 50 people at each meet or cruise. Why does there have to be such a big number in order to participate?? I've been to many a cruise or meet with as little as 3 or 4 cars and it was awesome. There seems to be this push for a majority rules and i don't understand it.
I can understand what toni was saying about wanting to hear back about events but like Mil said most people on here are not car enthusiats. Things like having an auto salon stand takes time and money. Also you have to be without a car for the weekend, now i know all of you don't have a seperate car. Not to mention i work most weekends as do others.
I have to say that i have been turned away as of late due to certain things, and i don't think much has been done to rectify them. I am in no way attacking anyone, as this seems to be the undertstanding at the moment no matter whats said.
I think the co-ordinators are trying hard and doing a good job, but why cancell a cruise or postpone it just becuase we don't have 10-15 cars at an event. First and foremost this is an internet based club and as such the majority of activity will always be on the forums not out at cruises, maybe the fact that it is really quiet here these days should be an indication of why there aren't many people at meets these days

I use the forums and website to learn about my car - I haven't had it that long, and there's a lot to learn. I'd always liked the FTO before I got mine, but didn't really know a lot about them. That's rapidly changing thanks to you people
And it's also nice to participate in discussions with like minded people. I think this forum is great - if only there were as much enthusiasm for the FTO over here...
