door window outside seal????

hi there

i just realise that my car window doesnt have a rubber lining on the outside door of the driver and passenger door . this i presume help reduce the wind noise and rain

does anyone know where i could get them?

you mean the strip above the window? don't know where to get them for you but i could probably source them if you seriously want them

that would be great smorison because when i drive on the m5 i get wind noise on the window where the side mirrors are

what does that rubber linning actually do by the way?

it guides air up and over the car rather than spilling down the side. This reduces the turblance that would otherwise be there, ulitmately reducing drag by a co-effiecent probably somewhere around 0.01 (the FTO drag co-efficient is from memory about 0.32 -if i'm wrong i'm sure someone will correct me). At the end of the day all this means to you is reduced wind noise when traveling at speed. It also helps channel water but this isn't the primary design of the air guides.

I have those rubber/plastic guides but I don't know how effective they are at high speeds. I start getting a lot of wind noise at 110kph.

I haven't driven an FTO without them so I can't really compare.

But I guess that's why FTO is a Japanese sports car not a Euro passenger saloon!

makes me reconsider if its too expensive im gona try the wreckers if they are below 50$ then i would go ahead if not then what you said still makes wind noise then its not worth it

also smorision? my aircon pulley is wobling about where can i get one of these? i ask itg dealer they go its abit expensive to buy from them and i went to mc graff mitsubishi and they never replied

can you tell me how much roughly these cost?

also that oil additive? does it make your oil loosen? is it good for the engine?

ive just stripped one of these off my car - i think they look better without, however, there is a messy glue underneath. ive managed to get a lot off, but doesnt anyone know of any EASY way to get rid of it?
eucalptus didnt do much.... turps? etc?

I used big kevsgoo remover to take mine off. I think i've thrown mine out. I reckon it looks heaps better without them

was there a lot of scrubbing or did it come off easily? ive stripped most of it off, but its a pain in the ass to get it all! ill get some of this goo remover you talk of

Yeah coles and safeway sell it. Be careful it doesnt get on your paintwork, it eats away the wax and polish!

You dont need to scrub that hard, it comes off pretty easily
