polyurethane suspension bushes

Hi folks anyone out there know where to get a set of polyurethane suspension bushes for a GPX preferably in Australia

Have you tried Whiteline? I've been told they make quite a number of suspension components for the FTO...

Try wilkinson suspension here in Bayswater bro. They do springs and stuff so would have bushes. Most are a pretty standard size, actually come to think of it, think they said they would match em once they were out but would have no trouble finding a set.

I had some put on by Kmac (sydney) a while back, could do it yourself, it was $40 fitted with new brackets made up and all. Did a good job.

my car sounds like a squeeky swing, will changing the bushes fix that ?

I was hoping to get some before i took them off so it would be straight off and straight on.

Might have to get them shipped in from Camskill in the UK

Just thought by now that some one in Australia might be stocking them as there would be a few coming up for replacement any one done there droplinks, and know how much they paid for them. Price for parts.

yeah ive done sway bar bushes and drop links....was an easy job...
i paid $90 for two second hand droplinks from just jap...that fixed my annoying rattly suspension...and i got poly bushes with my sway bar upgrade from whiteline....if anything, poly bushes might make your suspension slightly more squeaky...grease and tighten them correctly and you should be fine though

very happy with the swaybar upgrade, poly bushes and droplinks though....

understeer? what understeer? hehehe 8)

i got the fto handling kit from whiteline....it includes a 18mm front swaybar, 22mm rear swaybar, front and rear poly bushes, front camber bolts, and front castor kit...all up it costed about 600...pretty hefty...

ive only put the rear swaybar on and the rear poly bushes and its sweeeeet already hehehe 8) i live in lugarno and if youve ever driven through here youll know that some of its a "fun" drive...it handles perfectly around the bendies at pretty high speeds...i think my neighbours hate me and think im a hoon :P

gonna put the rest on in a few weeks when ive got some more time....i reckon just the rear swaybar and rear poly bushes would be worth it...rear sway bar goes for about 200 i think...cant really remember...easy to fit too...

i had a look on the white line web site and i cant seem to find the package your talking about, as my bushes are on their way out, i think its a good excuse to upgrade the sway bars..:)

rear swaybars do bugger all...

front swaybars have a huge effect...

i think your impovement has come bushes mainly...

i just had my whiteline Front sway bar installed..

and yep.. there was a huge difference... i have do some testing with damper settings now... heehhe

next week im installing Strut bars front n rear.. so see how it goes..

Try unhooking your rear drop links and driving without the sway bar =P

I believe Steve is refering to upgrading the swaybar - i.e. you'll notice a much greater improvement by upgrading the front swaybar than what you will from upgrading the rear swaybar.

The one caveat that I will add here is that this does depend on the overall setup of your car and how you drive it, but generally speaking you'll notice the difference on the front more than the rear.

Well upgrading the front swaybar should effectively cause more understeer =)

Something that I currently don't need =) I suspect the standard front sway would be fairly small *shrugs* I can't remember =)

Mind you, using the sway bars to compensate for an unbalanced car isn't really the best way to go about it =) Primary role for sway bars is to limit lateral axis roll, under/oversteer is a side effect of that =) Too much anti sway won't allow a car's tires to dig into the pavement (in other words, to load the tires during a corner due to the weight shifting) so you'll lose some corner grip if you go too extreme.

Couldn't agree with you more Eric! :D

It's all about finding a balance and tuning the car's suspension to your requirements. One solution does not fit all and if people aren't careful they could end up with a setup that is detrimental to the way they drive their car, even though it is considered an "upgrade". :wink:

don't get me wrong i've got an original ralliart swaybar in my boot... however the handling improvement of it is minimal compared to the front...this is different from RWD / AWD cars... as we're FWD cars the rear wheels tend to simply follow the car and there is minimal loading on them...
