What have I done?!!?
After just getting my new FTO gpx (auto) I thought I see what it can do. So I went for a cruz, I accelarated out of a corner in 3rd and gave it a bit and the car jumped down unexpectatly into 1st. Then at the next intersection the car was idling low and when I took off the car stalled, It then wouldn't start up again so I gave it a minute and it reluctantly started (thank god) and I nursed back home. But now it still idles really low between 700 - 1000rpm.
Can anyone tell me wtf I did to my car?

sounds like you could have one of two issues
one cheap one not so cheap
disconenct the battery and leave it over night.
this will clear the ECU and remove any naughty tricks the gear box has learnt (the FTO gear box is soem times a bit to smart! you might want to read about this)
re connect the battery and see what happens
if that fails still
you could of broken the stepper motor which looks after the idle but i am not sure
still give hte battery a shot you might get a nice surprise

Make sure to disconnect the battery for atleast 30 mins, ones the batterry is connected let the car idle for about 10 minutes.
Then drive for for another 10 / 15 minutes. The gearbox shift points will be a bit weird, but it will learn to your style soon enough.
Oh and I hope your using 98RON fuel. And yeah if it continues to stall then it could be a number of things. depends on when it stalls. Let us know.

According to Mitsubishi Japan, which Joel had posted here before, FTO GR require 98ron, & GPX is 100ron.Tim-YFT wrote:The car itself only needs 93 ron and above fuel, was never a 100ron car.
Hmmmmm Tim-YFT do you drive a FTO???

ftoooo thinks hes suspect too.
the truth of the matter though is the car CAN run on 93 ron, see www.ftowa.com where hte guy did a test. it dropes mivec and soem performance but it does run safely.
why you would want to when you dotn have to? you tell me

been discussed many times, but if you ask any high end car dealer/mech they wont put anything else in their cars other then 98ron....
The 95 and 93 from what I understand are made up with another 5-7% of possibly damaging elements... I'm sure ruchi or steve could explain this a little better then me ..

wow i'm posting... sorry guys i'm just drowning in work at the moment...
couple of things...
get a can of wd40 and clean your stepper motor (take it off first)... doesn't take long...
problem is generally caused when the engine is still cold (even if its showing warm)... the stepper motor gets stuck closed and the engine runs very rich (choke is still on)... cleaning the stepper motor generally fixes the problem...
the rule to live by is to run the car for 10minutes before flooring it or doing any agressive driving... this is how long it takes for the engine to properly warm everything up...
