FTO sound bites.

Post by Leigh »

I was installing my extractors the other day. Halfway through I had to use my car before I could get my muffler on. And it was running just after the cat. Now I know how loud cars are off the pipes, from drag meets, bush bashers etc, but the FTO On mivec is INSANE!

standing a good 5 meters away at 8k RPM ground shakes, my ears went slightly deaf.

Knowing I would never get to run it off the pipes again, a friend recorded it for me. And I just got it in an Email then.

So for anyone interest here is a 3meg WAV.
http://www.angelfire.com/un/fto/starting.wav

-First start up was the mic inside the car windows down.
-second start up we reduced the recording volume to minimum to try to get rid of the distortion windows up.
- third we wraped the mic to try to clean it up a little more, but still distorts a little bit. and went for a little drive.
- last bit he was a drive by.

But now the muffler is on, all is good and no more headaches.
Drives very smooth, got my low and mid power back and sounds great! But man did it pull hard in the top end. *sniff*

Wow, thanks for that... Since you took it for a drive, can I ask if you noticed any performance difference without the exhaust on?

Also, I have to comment, it sounds similar to mine, but mine defenetly isnot as loud i don't think, I still have to sometimes put in that silencer... 8O

well under about 4k it is very sloppy, really a struggle to drive, but when the second cam comes in it pulls VERY hard. you can hear how long it takes to get to mivec (1min 31 secs), then hear how quickly it runs the second cam. (1min 37sec)

I actually forgot all about my Gtech at the time. which would of been perfect to compare.

I can't seem to get to the .wav file, when I try to visit the link I get this page:
http://www.angelfire.com/sys/dlparent.shtml

which, in case it doesnt come up for you guys, says this:
"Angelfire does not allow direct linking
from offsite, non-Angelfire pages,
to files hosted on Angelfire.
This practice of 'remote linking' reduces
our ability to serve out the homepages
of our members quickly and efficiently. "

Same result in both IE and Opera...how come you guys can get it??

Alku83,
press right click on the link below,
http://www.angelfire.com/un/fto/starting.wav
then chose "Save Target As" or "Save Link As", according to your browser.
Then, choose a location to dowload, for eg; your desktop.
Press "OK"
When the download finish, go to your desktop, find the file called "starting.wav", and double click on it.
wallaaaa, hopefully
