Drags in Perth - anyone run their FTO there?
Going to get mine ready to take down in the new year, just need to fix an oil leak first that i've had for ages or it won't pass scrutineering.
Just wondering if there are any WA'ers here that go to Perth motorplex and run the strip? I've been away from Perth for about 5 years so not been in ages and the last strip I ran was in the UK.
Hoping the FTO will surprise a few people down there, there's a Subaru vs Mitsubishi night coming up 3rd Jan which i'm aiming for.

Yes as bjk said car is boosting, getting 8-9psi and pulling well and that's instant boost as soon as the throttle is opened up, virtually no lag.
Just done a 2400km road trip from Broome to Perth with no issues.

I dragged it 2-3 years ago now when my car was freshly done and it ran a 14.6 on really bad tires. I use a manual box from a GR with a Mivec engine/haltech/othercrap. With good tires I reckon I could have done a 14.2 quite easily.

14.6 is a pretty good time for an N/A FTO, I've seen plenty in the 15's and only a handful run 14's.
Didn't make it last night, still haven't taken care of the oil leak but that will be soon.

I don’t think they’re possible of a 14.2 by any stretch, in fact I barely believe a 14.6

Don Griffiths in the UK ran 13.98 - his FTO was stripped out (really stripped out) and had a MAP2ECU, extractors and semi slicks and a couple of other tricks that he didn't let on about, he used to drag a lot compared to most so was quite experienced.
Not many others getting even low 14's.
Autos are definitely slower so not sure how i'll go yet, Mark Emery who had a single Turbo on his Tiptronic GPX ran a 14.2.
I'm hoping to get into the 13's with the Supercharged Tip and beat my previous 14.06, this one is a 5 speed Tip and my old one was a 4.

Yeah I believe that rob, but I don’t think an N/A FTO is not doing a 14.6 with “really bad tyres” let alone a 14.2 that he claims, it’s just not happening lol

Re: Drags in Perth - anyone run their FTO there?
I will try to find where the slip is but fair enough if you don't believe it! I used to drag race a lot. To be fair I reckon 14.2 is probably a bit of a long stretch. This was initially done on r888 tyres all those years ago but they had just sat on the car and gone dry (so in the wet they were really really bad) I did strip it quite hard as well! (See above where I said other crap) and set up launch control on the haltech just using a generic push button. Came in at somewhere around 138-142kmh over the quarter from what I remember.
I've never had the car run as good as it did the first two months once I got it back from the shops

I think I'll be giving the drags a shot in the next few months, once my FTO is 100% complete

@FTODreams,
That's a pretty slow trap speed and definitely not going to yield 14s.
Though I do believe FTOs are capable of those times with some mods.
Any idea what your 60ft times were?

Re: Drags in Perth - anyone run their FTO there?
I believe its possible to run a 14.6 with a few mods as i ran a 14.9 with a pretty stock mivec manual and im no driver by any means. But im definitely not believing a 14.2 no matter the driver or mods on a 2L N/A FTO. They just don't have the legs to do so
