I go in my gf's pulsar lol
So, if someone uninsured hits you, and either does a lot of damage, or enough to write the car off. then you have next to zero chance of getting your car repaired; or recovering money.
Seriously, at a minimum buy 3rd party.
You never know when you need insurance, despite how good YOU drive on the road.
I too strongly suggest you get 3rd party ASAP. If somebody hits you, you tell your insurance about it and they can help you recover the money by dealing with the other person's insurance,
even if you only have 3rd party.
If you hit someone else, you'd have to pay everything out of your own pocket. Like Dan said, would you happily afford to buy somebody a new car if you wrote it off or pay them a few grand for minor damages? What if it was a multi car crash and you were the one at the back who rear ended the person in front of you who already crashed into another car, you'd be liable for all cars.
I know it sounds like a rant, nothing personal, just wanted to stress the importance of having at least 3rd party. Plus it's cheap, even in a 'high risk' area, won't effect it that much, it's not comprehensive after all.
