Stepper Motor?
So cranked over shitrus other morning and seems someone installed 4 stage 5 cams whilst i was sleeping.
Drives just fine but rough as guts on the idle. Took the stepper apart and gave it a spray with silicon, seems a little better but still very chuggy. Any other things to rule out before i hunt down a stepper?

Hmmmm, under the usual tappet tapping you can hear a knock. Hoping is just the idle and not something more sinister.

Re: Stepper Motor?
Yeah considered that, though it drives perfectly no loss in power. Also after cleaning up the stepper motor it idles much better, almost normal in park and a bit chuggy in gear.

Similar noise to this thread? http://ftoaustralia.com/v3/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=30843
This caused relatively unstable idle during startup but got better when it reached standard operating temp.

You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

Nah not that bad thank christ. Idles bad in gear and close to normal in park.Nacho wrote:Similar noise to this thread? http://ftoaustralia.com/v3/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=30843
