It worked!
Idling just fine, made a couple of adjustments and got it down to about 800rpm, no hunting so that's a milestone

Just need to finish making a bracket for the throttle cable tonight (about 5 minutes more) and then a test drive.

Still will need to plumb in the mini rad and pump for the charge cooler but I should be able to test if it's driveable and behaving itself as it is as long as I don't boost it too much.
Need to test what it's like coming on/off throttle, hoping for no kangarooing or stalling, if everything goes well then it can remain on the car.

Had a tiny drive earlier with the charger on just round the block.
Nothing blew up, belt didn't come off, no stalling or kangarooing, but I need to make a couple of small adjustments before going balls out as there's a bit of belt noise and / or pulley noise when I go more than maybe 5-10% throttle. I knew the belt looked a little loose before I took it out hence why I took it steady but I wanted a first drive tonight.
All in all a good test

I've adjusted the pulleys slightly.

If there had been more than I around when I was filming we could have heard some sweet tunes being played by the charger but that will have to wait.

Need a good test drive now, maybe a bit of tuning on the emanage and more importantly some drive-by video.
Then it's time to do some plumbing which will be easy.

Not fully sure yet but thinking to try and see if it will squeeze in behind the front grill drivers side, I've got one there on the passengers side already as an oil cooler for the auto box.
Pump has to be the lowest point, it's actually a boat one - a rule 401FC 500gph, I will need to get a header tank too (want to see what difference it makes when I throw ice in).

I have a mini fan for it too, and a relay for both pump and fan which will switch via a switched live so be on with ignition but I will have a kill switch in-line too just in case I need to switch the pump and fan off for some reason (got the switch already with an led so I know if it's on/off).

Although i'm in the north west WA (Broome - lovely, but infrastructure and services - noooo) they do have a Dyno up here which really surprised me, so yet it will be getting on the Dyno soon.

Had a little drive again earlier, belt is slipping when I gun it so need to tension it more, may even need an additional tensioner - no biggy if that's the case (I have two already to try).

Yeah one of those, just to add more liquid to the system which is supposed to help.

Have you taken a look at how the first gen legacy's do it?
I've got a couple here, and it's quite a nice little system, with the exchanger on top of the engine, lines running to a pump under the headlight, then across to the separate rad in-front of the main rad.
I've had no issues with any of mine

What a difference a vac pipe makes, swapped some around (where the map sensor connects to and the bypass valve connects to) and the car drives a lot better.
Just didn't have time to swap the vac pipe for the boost gauge as I didn't have any more T's on me so I don't know how much boost it's running.
Will do that tomorrow and if all good get some more screw in connectors so they are all on their own ones instead of T's. It's where i'm taking the vac/boost source from that's made the improvement as i'm now taking it closer to the intake manifold instead of up near the throttle body.

Swapping superchargers this weekend as this one seems a bit noisy, don't remember the last one being as noisy as this, good job I've got a spare (I will rebuild the noisy one and then retest after but at my leisure).
Almost finished with the mini rad and pump for the charge cooler too so that should help things, my intake temps are pushing 70 degrees even off boost.

Well that's the funny thing, this is just driving off-boost low revs and they are creeping up to that so I reckon N/A cars will be similar temps.

So, my theory is that driving around off boost just cruising with the charge cooler on, filled with coolant, pump and fan running should see my intake temps colder than an N/A FTO, i'm hoping it will help deter heat soak into the plenum. Of course they will go up when i'm boosting lots but hopefully the charge cooler will keep it low if it's efficient enough.
