I must say crazy motorcyclist. Especially those who weave in and out of traffic. I have no sympathy what-soever to those motorcyclist who get knock down in those instances.

And drivers who are totally oblivious to the traffic situation around them. They look like they're in their own little world where everything revolves around them.

I should stop hatin....

I know there's a fine line in there somewhere. That might have come out wrong. Fair enough to give a wave when you make a mistake. Not deliberately cut someone off and give an arrogant little wave. Even a wave has a certain body language to it. Does that make any sense?

I HATE Sunday drivers!!!! They are usually a combination of all or most of the options on the list. They're usually slow like they're "driving Miss Daisy", drive in the middle of two lanes in a two lane road, and neglect to indicate  . I especially hate those that sit in the right lane on an intersection with no special right turn lane and then start to indicate when they get the green light  .
There are 10 types of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

hmmm so more people dont like slow fast laners... and one person loves everybody :?

next question... what is the etiquette with the fast lane... i mentioned in a previous post that i think if youre in the fast lane and someones behind you, youre going too slow.... thoughts?

also... when is the right lane a fast lane? always? even on two laned suburban roads? or does it only apply to major arterial roads and highways?

cheers

I think that on urban 2 lane roads keeping left is not really required, as people are always turning on and off the roads. However there still seems to be those people who just seem to HAVE to drive in the right lane, for no valid reason.

Here's what I do on multi lane roads. I will only drive in the fast lane if I am passing someone. I will also try and move over if a faster car comes up behind me (doesn't happen very often  ). I will cruise in the fast lane, but only if I am moving faster than the traffic in the lane to my left. If once I have passed the slower cars a reasonable gap appears to my left, I will move over into it ... as long as it is enough of a gap to mean that I can drive for a reasonable distance without having to move back into the fast lane again.

What really annoys me is when you'll be driving along in the middle or slower lane, continuously passing a whole long line of slower cars who are all in the fast lane and who refuse to move over....

Is passing on the left illegal in Australia? It isn't here - and its just as well sometimes...

cyclists

what about cyclists!!?? that ride along in your lane, and once you finally get past them without killing them.. they pass you when your stopped at the traffic lights and it all starts again!!!!!!

I hate them.

Bikes are great, environment, fitness, all that stuff, but I dont want to kill someone! they need to stick to where the cycle lanes are or stay off the road!!

I'll have to agree with you.

The most stupid law ever impossed was that bikes can not be road on the footbath.

I would much rather an old lady get knocked over by a bike rider on the footpath, then having a bike riding smashed by a car.

The old lady might get hurt but will probably survive, whilst the bike rider that gets hit by a car will most likely be killed.

Well I am a recreational cyclist, and I understand what you mean. When I'm riding on the road I always try to keep out of the way of traffic as much as possible. In some cases I will ride on the footpath to stay out of the way of traffic - it is illegal here too, but it's a law hardly ever enforced. And like mentioned above, I'd rather risk a ticket than risk being mown down by Mrs Housewife in her SUV.

What pisses me off about other cyclists is that they all moan about not being treated as equal road users by motorists and not being shown any respect. However, how many times do you see cyclists breaking red traffic lights, not giving way to cars, etc? To me it's simple - if you want to be treated the same as other road users, then behave like them and obey all the same road rules...
