Ahh, I want those rings. I have the stainless steel backing at the moment, but would prefer the rings. Got a link? How much were they?

Was also going to get the stainless backing but didn't. Didn't want to accentuate the cut out hole lines with silver colour haha

I do like the idea of changing gauge face plates though.. but not much luck finding them.. and the ones I've found are too much rice haha.
Loving the look of these though.

maybe its the white needles making all the difference..

I keep telling myself to leave the details to later but got nothing much else to do while I wait but to think about details.
Just purchased this thing of beauty. It was bit pricey ($55 aud) for a gear knob but I can see why. its heavy as fu*k! Going to love throwing the gear stick with this beaut on.

Matches the metal brushed finish on the gauge rings too

Also you will want to have a sticker with the shift H pattern somewhere on your dash if you wanna keep it legal. Seen people get defected for not having it.

Look what I've found.
Speedo gauge face in white.
I was certain these are no longer being made but I was wrong!

It's weird because this I could never find them when I searched on my phone app. Found them on google chrome web browser in my pc. With the link above you will be able to see it in your phone & pc. You are welcome.

Just a thought..
Just as far as the wing mirrors goes...
Because I have version r, I don't have retractable mirrors.
So I was just wondering..
Supposed I buy mirrors with motors & factory interior switch,,, would I need to wire them separately or would it be able to use existing electric wires / connectors & plug and play?
Does anybody know?

They need to be wired separately. They have a different plug and the extra wires need to be run through the door and back to the switch. This is what ive done

Stereo Head Unit

I used to have this JVC unit (Above pic) 17 years ago but these seem like old school when compared with what these new head unit had to offer.

With the big Easter Sales around town, I went to supercheap to buy some head units.
Personally I'm into all the technology offered (NFC, bluetooth, USB, SD card etc.. but no CD) & am not really into disco flashing light head units.
This New Zealand head unit offered me pretty much every thing I've asked... including the (non flashing) blue illumination key light! Look how small the unit itself is!

I've taken out the sub and amp previous owner installed. I did like it when I was younger but not my cup of tea anymore.. So if anyone wants it make me an offer. I will take better pics & upload the pics /specs on Sales section of the forum tmw.

Its carp photo but as you can see in the photo above, the factory stereo plug still lives on and I do not want to cut it to hard wire it. (same reason why I don't want to drill holes to install side skirts on)..

The guys at the shop couldn't help me find the right cable (FTO wasn't even in the booklet) but I have a feeling that this will work for me. I will bring the car in to test fit when the time comes.

Didnt buy this but it seems like a good idea to have this as one piece. Again, I will bring in "the bit" into the shop to see if it fits.

Re: Jess' FTO build / questions thread
You need the plug on the back of the interior switch as well. I left the original plugs in place and wired in the nerw ones about 10cm from the end (for both mirror and switch). This way you can go back to the original if required. There are 2 extra wires and these just need to be put in place. Make sure you put them through the rubber grommet that goes through the firewall and door.DODO`` wrote:-mirrors (with motor)dstocks wrote:They need to be wired separately. There's also a control box for the folding mirrors you need to get if you want them to work properly.
