Yeah, wouldn't spend that much on hoses. Only advantage really is not prone to splitting/bursting. As well as looks obviously, but going for black that doesn't really make a difference.

Well with the amount of coolant that was leaking out I'd rather not take my chances. Maybe a bit much, but they'll last my ownership of the car. (hopefully till it or I dies.

I've been meaning to ask if you remembered about when the reco and timing belt was done actually. I know it was 30-40k ago but I'd you've got a more accurate memory that would be good for me to record.ZFL45H1 wrote:She will never die mate lol. Trust me

This is tempting, lol. Bit of coin but would be a nice clean way to integrate them. Two temperature and one pressure gauge.

I used to have just a little plate that my VDO gauges sat in. Was about $10, didn't look too bad and can choose what gauges you want. Now I've replaced the ash tray and cigarette lighter.

Was the plate made by VDO as well, or just something you made/had made up? Gauges any good?Vectose wrote:I used to have just a little plate that my VDO gauges sat in. Was about $10, didn't look too bad and can choose what gauges you want. Now I've replaced the ash tray and cigarette lighter.
I've been thinking about what one could do to put one in the ash tray spot. I'd probably keep the cigarette lighter as a charging spot, but don't smoke, so no need for the tray.

The plate was from eBay. Just search up "gauge din" or something.
Gauges are the closest looking to stock. They're VDO vision. Although can use any 52mm gauges you want.
I've added 2 USB ports in the centre console.

But you haven't had any issues with the gauges themselves? I don't know anything about them or how they work so I don't know what's too cheap or rather too expensive. Where'd you add the USB ports? Just cut them in?Vectose wrote:The plate was from eBay. Just search up "gauge din" or something.

Re: BJK's '95 FTO GPX #2!
Few weeks ago Kiz came and replaced my starter in the white car, so good to have it running again.

Saw someone else had put their K&N sticker on the airbox and thought that was a reasonably nifty idea so I pinched it, as I wouldn't bother putting it on the windows or anything. Still need to route a CAI...

Whale dick! \o/
And been spending a bit of time torque steering through the Adelaide hills. Car is tight (if rather bouncy) but definitely needs grippier tyres. Wavetrac has helped corner entry/exit a lot but it doesn't make you invulnerable to going in too hot!

Potato.
Still debating grabbing a facelift bar...

I wish it was as tidy as Ryan's old GPX, but I didn't buy it for clean paint! If I grab a facelift I might take it somewhere to get them to align it though. The panel gap is more annoying to me than paint fade.Technikhaus wrote:Looking good, but yes, get facelift!

Replaced the radiator cap 'cause the old one left me roadside after overheating while it hissed and leaked water and pushed it out the overflow bottle.
Was also accepted into All Japan Day 2016 and even had a couple people take shots of the car! (only one there amongst a sea of Skylines and Silvias too haha)

Upgrades always in progress. Gonna be the death of my bank account.ZFL45H1 wrote:God I miss her lol. But super glad she is in your hands BJK

Ordered a Worley radiator off eBay as even with the cap replaced it's still getting a bit warm before the fan kicks in, may or may not be here before we leave for bonfire but should be fine for trip up anyway.

Re: BJK's '95 FTO GPX #2!
Bought Ruby's old car.
was in a rear ender, owner had gone through the person who hit them third party insurance, who paid her out but she also kept the car. Thought it was written off but it's not on motor reg. Since moved away, been sitting for like a year so gave the people holding it some cash to move it on and now here it is! Presently trying to organise a tow to get it to Tim's before the weekend, we'll see if anyone is available.

Also just had the Worley radiator I ordered a couple days ago delivered; very prompt! Samco hoses also came this morning. You can see the little keychain they give you as well at the bottom of the pic.

Re: BJK's '95 FTO GPX #2!
Parting it out, sadly for it! Well, at least I want the front bumper and boot, and Kiz might want the coil overs, and someone else the wheels. Actual damage isn't much but not sure if anyone will take it without the goodies on it when they'll have to add a lot of parts.DODO`` wrote:nice, what are you planning to do with the black FTO?
