Actually, even if you dont get it running on time, you are still welcome. There are others that will show up without FTO's as well.

So my car finally arrived to Sydney safely this morning. It got to the garage as they were finishing for the day so the car will be sleeping outside until Monday.
But that meant I could go to their carpark and see it in person for the first time!
I must admit, I felt really weird owning my first car back.. after almost 15 years.
Took some snap shots.. Yes its dusty and greasy and oils leaks from god knows where.. little dings around the body.. but I reckon it looks bloody good!
Already bought some body parts to replace..
But first, get it road worthy..
I might drop the engine to replace water pump, timing belt, seals.. lots of seals..
check ecu codes, quick compression test.. and all fluid change..
and of course the roof glue removal.. -luckily no rust present.. (well, at least from outside.. )
Any advise in any way would be appreciated..

Maybe not, but a good base to build on.

Love the 3 piece advans! Let me know if you ever want to sell them!! Alternatively I have a set of white Buddy Club P1 racings if youd wanna swap + cash your way...
In terms of 'The Bit' yours seems quite destroyed, I thought mine was bad! The blue seats look sick too, seems like a good purchase.

What's "the bit"?? These wheels aren't my cup of tea..I'll let you know once I get them out. Your P1s have tyres on them? Thread?mezje wrote:Love the 3 piece advans! Seats aren't perfect some wear & tear on drivers side. Not sure I love the blue colour I'm too old for this flamboyance! But in the name of 'keeping it stock form' I will repair them..

Haha, "The Bit" is our colloquialism for the stereo surround. Basically all of them have broken at one stage or another, so it was a frequent question on the facebook group regarding "the bit around the stereo". SchumieFan coined the phrase, it's copyrighted now.
Also a mod should move this to member's rides imo.

Gas out the tank
As this car was sitting for awhile.. turpentine needs to be replace to proper petrol first. Is the tank neck designed so we can syphone the gas out or does it have leak screw at the bottom?

Ive not had any luck with the pipe. Remove rear seat (its just held in with 2 clips. Remove plate underneath and then you should be able to undo the 6 or s nuts and lift the fuel pump enough to fit a pipe in the tank.

Probably like 50-60% tread, not great tyres, Daytonas or something. The wheels are also really rashed, probably only worth 300-400.DODO`` wrote:What's "the bit"?? missing buttons?!
Just noticed that the car is missing some front lights?
What is this empty hole for? I used to have a fog light for my old gpx,, or its meant to be like this?
I also notice that there was no dash buttons to turn on the fog light.. Nor the antenna extract button? they were blank buttons..
Is this normal for version R ?

Edit: OMG! I just noticed I don't have an aerial either (usually on left rear quarter panel isn't it? )
does this mean I can't enjoy listening radio?

Fog Lights. Often removed during ADR compliance. Some people use it to run cold air induction. Otherwise, you can source them.
