Jess' FTO build / questions thread
Hi All,
Thought I'd start up a thread for my "build" (if I can call it that) and questions along the way.
I was lucky enough to have a 94 FTO GPX as my first car 17 years ago.
Sold it on after 4 years of ownership. Lots of memories.. Told my self 'I will have you back again one day'.
and here I am 17 years and many cars (and bikes) later, here I am finally keeping my promise.
My plan (at least for now) is to generally keep it as stock form.. OR if I do any mods, it will be in a way that it can be put back into complete stock form again.. I know this way the car will not only worth more but keep it un-molested.
Anyway, I will update this thread with all changes (and of course the questions along the way) on each post.
Thanks guys and gals

Re: Jess' FTO build / questions thread
So I found this on gumtree.
The car didn't start due to sitting in the garage over a year.
Plus it was in Albury Victoria (about 5.5hr drive from Sydney).
Called up the guy, asked some questions, negotiated price, arranged a transporter, and purchased it.
1997. So almost 20 years old car but it was an upgrade from my previous 94 automatic GPX model. So yea. happy over all.
Let's just hope the car is as what the previous owner described.

Photoshop
Whilst waiting for the car to arrive. I've looked at some ways to mod of course.. (now, this would only happen after the getting the car back on the road.. )
loving the aggressive look.. so I found a pic on google and started photoshopping it.
Before & After
Might have to get an extra hood, bumper & lights if I wanted to go back to stock though..
Just a thought..

Picked up
940 bucks to get it transported to Sydney. Many out there won't do it because the car wasn't drivable.. but managed to find one at reasonable price. If the car gets here in one piece I'd use them again. So far good service.
Pic taken just today. Can't wait to see it in real life. I was thinking of respray easy.. but looks much better than I expected in this photo with better light..

Nup, based on the original pics, I knew it was a good one. Thats why I was passing the add onto others. Really glad someone from the club picked it up.

Probably. Spline size is the same, question will be about the horn contact plate being too small.
3/ what's the max legal tint % limit in NSW?
35% to all glass except the front windscreen

Should also mention if you plan on getting larger wheels, you will need a different offset.
