Repairable Writeoff
So, have a 96 GPvR I have that was an insurance repairable writeoff when I bought it and I have repaired it. What are the NSW rules re repairable writeoffs that apply. Anyone know. I know NSW rules are the harshest, but do they apply to a car this age?
cheers

Re: Repairable Writeoff
Nothing u can do.. Too old and hard to re-register..
You just have to give it to me.. I'll be nice about it, and give you $500..
Or, you get a form for rego from the RMS. Give it to the Blue Slip guy.. Ensure he completes the section for repairable write offs.. Get your green slip (may still request the original and not an e-copy)..
Go to the RMS, pay through the @ss and my new car is finally rego'd..
Depending on the engineer, he will want to see evidence of proper repairs. This can just be a bill from a panel shop. He may not require it, and just visually inspect. Up to him, as it is his @ss on the line if it is later defective.

Re: Repairable Writeoff
Nah it's not that hard, Snoor2 was a repairable write off.
Because the car is over 16 years old, just get it blue slipped & rego it. That's it.
I've got a letter from the RMS stating exactly that at home. Remind me when I get home if you want to see it.

Re: Repairable Writeoff
It is mostly a paperwork thing..
Get the right spots of the form completed, and you will be OK..
And yeah, ultimately Blue slipper can be easy, or "by the book" .. Depends on who you pick..
I had issues when doing mine, because I didn't know it was listed as a repairable write off, so the guy didn't complete that section of the form. So had to go back and re-do it all.. Was a PIA but what can ya do..

Re: Repairable Writeoff
IIRC it has to be done by the person that owned it while it was reported as written off/damaged.

The ones on the blue slip guy's end. There's a bunch of sh*t you have to put in for a blue slip and he probably put it in as no previous damage as they had no idea it had been, in Craig's case.Bennoz wrote:What forms? Lol. I gave Lawso the keys & the address of the local blue slip guy. Job done.

Re: Repairable Writeoff
In Craigs case there never were any. I'm talking about the form that the blue slip guy has to fill out on his end on the RMS website that the blue and pink slip inspectors log into.

Daniel is correct.
It is a form from RTA, which has section for Blue Slip guy to complete..
