You are aware that an engine, gearbox and sundry attachments can be taken out at anytime to repaint a bay. When the glam time comes I'll do it, for now I'm busy trying to convince local shops to give a crap about Mitsubishi V6 engines, catching hell finding a timing belt locally.silverGPX wrote:Lol think you're funny, why waste your time modding a car if you're going to do a sh*tty job. Don't understand the mindset of some people.
Fear not sir the image of the FTO and this site will not be tarnished by my novice attempts.

Re: FTO RESURRECTION
Need help as usual. Do the 6a1x engines share tensioner and pulleys with any other Mitsubishi or engine? Trying to find options closer to the US atleast. Thanks.

Re: FTO RESURRECTION
Did the preload procedure in the gearbox and got a measurement of .98 off the solder. Do I add the 0.05-0.11 to that value or replace it with equal spacer?

Re: FTO RESURRECTION
It's been a while since I've updated so here we go.
If you were paying attention you would notice that this block is missing 2 cylinders and well the third pic was the spoiler. I've decided to go away from the V6 and go 4 banger owing to the fact that upgraded parts are way more available the 4g6x series. Well I got a crusty 4g64 block for small money and I'm now going with a 2.4l 4g64/63 hybrid.
The above pics are before I worked it over with Mineral spirits and air compressor but the block is cleaner now. After the Christmas season I'm hoping to get it to the machine shop and have it bored and honed to 87mm, decked, surfaced and tanked. I got some Eagle rods 150mm h-beam and I'm working on getting some forged 87mm pistons, acl bearings, arp main studs and OEM 4g64 head gasket.
The head will most likely be from an evo 7 because they are becoming very available but I want to do the short block then source head. My f5m42 won't mate to the engine without mods and I believe it would also break with the power so a fwd converted evo box seems to be the best bet.
Thank you for viewing and be safe for the holidays.
