I would say you tried to move both nuts together.
The top red nut is the adjuster, the bottom red nut is the lock nut.
You have to seperate/loosen the lock nut and then moove the adjuster nut, then tighten the lock nut back onto the adjuster nut.....you nut

Bought them second hand off some bitch (you know who you are) •_• advertised as "still new"
, upon delivery, all 4 were seized in the bottom part (height adjustment) never touched the springs, they were allready damaged. Managed to unseize 3 of the 4 and get the right height, last one wouldn't budge under any circumstances, so I got took the measurements to get it exactly where I wanted it and ended up being able to move it with some heat, a vice and stilsons.
