Re: Project Beema
Removed the spacers for now and gave it a splash of black paint to see if I like. Suits it well imo.

Re: Project Beema
Refitted the calipers, which stopped the wheels from fitting . So back on went the spacers, clearing the calipers by about 2mm.
Also found another problem when I tried to roll the car back. The lug nuts are too far in (because the steelies have a smaller gap than the original wheels) & are hitting against the brake shoes, stopping the wheels from spinning.
Am I able to to cut the lug nuts shorter? Or will it cause cross threading in the hub?
Spacers aren't an option because I've already had to fold in the lip on the inside of the arch to get clearance
(Last photo)
Could I remove the shoes? Because there is rear calipers as well and I reckon 4 sets of brakes on the rear is abit of an overkill...
Or what about a few washers between the the lug nuts and the wheels? Or is that dodgy as f**k

You can't get them lol they are the correct ones for the car. I guess I could look into converting the hubs to studs.

Re: Project Beema
Cut them shorter.
Put a nut on the thread past the cut, cut the thread, clean and slightly chamfer the cut edge with a grinder, then when you remove the nut it will clean the thread.
You could even run a die down the thread after you are done, just to make sure.

Re: Project Beema
Is this unsafe at all. I can't see how it would be, as long as the thread goes all the way through. But I saw someone write that not having that extra thread is unsafe ( there was no explanation why )

Fto is simple. Easy & cheap. I think I might go down the same track with it, nice wheels, paint, stanced etc. just something to do for a few more years with no license
