Forum hack
Hi guys,
I'm opening the forum up after a restore - albeit temporarily. We were hacked by ze Russians, as usual. For nothing more than sh*ts & giggles.
I did the good site admin thing & updated the forum last week to phpbb version 3.0.13L, unbeknownst to me, it's the most hackable version ever lol.
So, we've gone back to 3.0.12 for the moment, but we shouldn't have lost much data. Restore was from Sunday night US time, so Monday morning here.
Moving forward, I need to upgrade it to the latest & greatest version, V3.1.3. Apparently this smooths out all the security issues, plus I have to update the php version on the server to 5.4 to run it.
So please bear with me while we endure some upcoming outages, I have to get it to the latest version before the host will be satisfied. I'm told the new one is much faster, but many of the plugins won't work as expected. I will upgrade them too, but it will take some time.
Cheers.

Cheers for the work!
The only thing I've noticed so far is the website didn't go straight to the forum when I went to www.ftoaustralia.com.

Thanks mate, redirect now sorted.Technikhaus wrote:Cheers for the work!

Will happen today, outage shouldn't be too long. I've actually built the new website alongside this one already, so the only down time will be when I copy the database into the new db & flick the switch. Maybe an hour??tarkus wrote:when will this happen el presidenty?
The forum will then work & I can sort the plugins at my own pace.

Perhaps I should've been more specific. I need volunteers to go & play with the new forum, see if you can break it.
