I beg to differ. My P2 license was never cancelled. They didn't punch a hole in it when I got my full license. Could quite easily sell it to some kid for a fake IDbjk wrote:Can't sell your licence broShhtuart wrote:I thought you sold it.vanadinite wrote:Lost My license.silverGPX wrote:So what the hell happened mate, went AWOL for ages lol

Living in the same area but moved out. At this point in time I plan to fix the engine (has leak, half moon seals) and then after that fix up the body and finish installing all the suspension.silverGPX wrote:You still at the same place jerry? What's yr plans for it

Re: Vanadinite's FTO
Got the FTO from Sydney for a very good price with a supposed blown engine. It cranks but doesn't start. Its history is a bit sketchy, apparently the seller was driving along and he heard this bang and then the engine light came on and the car died. He thought the timing belt may have gone because to his knowledge thought the major service was yet to be done. It only has 109k on the clock.
So I got it home and now i'm trying to see why it wont start. I have found out the major service has actually been done no less than 5000kms ago and i check the timing belt to be sure and it looks brand new so its not the belt. Only thing i could find out of place is the alternator belt is gone and the a/c belt is so close to going i don't think it would make it down the street so my guess is the alternator belt is what caused the bang and for the car to die. What i cant work out is how????
I got the error codes from the ecu, they are
12 Air Flow Sensor
23 Camshaft position sensor
62 Intake air control valve position sensor
71 Vacuum control solenoid valve (TCL)
How can the alternator belt ripping off cause these errors? i have checked all plugs are in all the way so no issues there.
Im quite certain the car wont start cause of these codes because i tested for spark and got none and the fuel pump doesn't come on or even get power (i tested it with test light and manually checked for fuel pressure.)
At the moment i've disconnected the battery to try and reset the ecu but i don't hold out much hope for that so has anyone got any good ideas to try?

Re: Vanadinite's FTO
When the belt broke it cut/snapped the wire going down the front of the timing cover, which is of course the crank position sensor harness.
When this wire breaks it will instantly shut down the engine.
It happened to me a few years ago late at night and caused the FTO to take a trip home on a flat bed....big bang, engine shut down, no start.
You need to repair the wiring or replace the sensor.

Thanks Phil
I did check the wiring to the sensor are still intact, but it could have killed the sensor, that being said ill pull it anyways and triple check. Thanks Phil

Yeah +1, those belts are known to take out crank/cam sensors.
I fix cars.
