Hi my names Sammy I have recently been given my partners FTO.

It is in the process of getting fixed due to the Hydraulic lifters shitting themselves and a massive oil leak caused by the rocker covers both gaskets have gone!!

I have a few questions.

1) Is there anyone with FTO's on the Gold Coast?
2) Is 1,200- 1,300 a good price for the stuff I need done?
3) What is the easiest and Cheapest way to put the Whole center console back together (or how do I rebuild my own)?

Hello!

a) Yep, a few guys in Queensland... Shane-o will pop up on this post pretty soon probably.

2) Is 1,200- 1,300 a good price for the stuff I need done?
a) Is that for adjusting the tappets and replacing both rocker cover gaskets? Not a bad price if so, but I'm sure one of the members would be able to help too.

3) What is the easiest and Cheapest way to put the Whole center console back together (or how do I rebuild my own)?
a) You don't.. we have all tried and failed.. and it will just crack again. Better off getting a new one, they're much stronger. A member called dstocks will have them.

And all the hydraulic lifters have to be replaced I think they said there is about 24 of them from memory and the timing belt is getting done to.

I was gonna try custom make my own.

also is 175 thousand kms a lot for a 1997 model?

Yeah not a bad price.. if tappets are getting replaced then its a non-mivec probably.

175 is pretty average.

Sammy, I now don't even remember how many times I've given you Dwayne's details for the center consoles. Think you spoke to him as well? Nothing personal, but if you keep asking the same question which were already been answered before by me or others, then it just feels like you don't trust us. Doesn't make me want to help you any more in the future because of that.
