It'll be interesting to see how much useable space there is

It was never going to be the most practical trailer, more the fun factor.silverGPX wrote:It'll be interesting to see how much useable space there is
I'd say I'd have a tiny bit more space than the FTrailerO.

Thought the same a while ago .
Funny that they just aren't.
Been so bloody dry here for near 3 straight months.
Very light drizzle for a total of 60 minutes, stored on a tarp, so no ground moisture coming through.

Re: Project: Trailer. (The Lawso)
So. Here we are.
I'm now at a point of stripping down the entire rear end in order to remove any un-nessesary metal (weight) and un-needed parts.
After spending a bit of timing inspecting the rear parcel shelf structure, and weighing the options to keep things rigid, I may just keep the boot on.
Removal of rear glass in the coming weeks with help from Michael will give more insight.
Lots of rust to tackle from previous bad repairs in the cars life. (not even showing half of the bad repairs done here)

Re: Project: Trailer. (The Lawso)
I agree, but in this case, the rear of the car has taken a massive beating.
From that, entire seams of the car have come apart and been put back together with tac welds.
Water/ moisture have made their way in and eaten out in places that should not be as bad as they are.
Comparable to our car which also was hit in the rear, the repairs were much better and rust has only been an issue in 1 small area.
The entire rear of this car is botched to no end.

Re: Project: Trailer. (The Lawso)
So, now starts the tedious process of drilling out spot welds.
Worst to the fact, with the previous repairs, some are tack welds, so even more tedious.
1 picture shows all the bracing I intend to remove.
Fun times. Need to buy a cold chisel.

Re: Project: Trailer. (The Lawso)
Bit more insight as to the poor repair work which the rear of this car had.
Plus an increase on space!
