Vinyl Wrapping
hm, so i know i have been ranting about getting my roof wrapped on my silver gpx because it has paint stripped from the de-rusting done.
i was thinking of having the top done in gloss black. i was looking through many threads on the internet, there are many differing opinions on it. such as having the whole upper part of the car wrapped or just the roof top done. which should i do? any comments on it?

Re: Vinyl Wrapping
I really like it when they do the columns in black as well... Looks a lot more smoother than just the roof IMO

Re: Vinyl Wrapping

Re: Vinyl Wrapping
Black and silver go well together, I don't see a problem with it

Re: Vinyl Wrapping
I have wrapped 2 FTO's. The orange one (Lorax - now sold) has the roof done:

If you do a search for Lorax on the forum youll find more pictures. My other FTO is also a complete Vinyl wrap in blue:

Going down to the bottom of the rear pillars will look good, but you will not be able to do that with a single piece of vinyl as the rolls are only 1.5m wide. Youll probably end up with 3 pieces with joins on the grooves in the roof (Not that this is necessarily a problem). If you have a sunroof, the join would be quite obvious though as you dont have those grooves to hide it. Personally, id go with a satin finish instead of gloss though

Black roof and pillars with dark tinted windows looks hot...
You can also do the bonnet in black, and will look just as good... Use to do this kind of colour scheme with 180sx's...

Satin has a bit more sheen to it than matte.

Yep, it took a little while to do (did it myself). Build thread here:wow, the blue one looks really sick! did you put in a lot of hours on it?

Satin is half way between gloss and matt. Roof of the Lorax is done in Carbon fibre. The material used on that hasnt held up really well though, so if you end up going with a carbon fibre, make sure its got some kind or warranty.satin as in matte? is the roof of the lorax done in satin?

Re: Vinyl Wrapping
I would go a gloss black .. Like I have done to the Swift ...
If you want, look at photo's of Aza's FTO .. It is white with satin black roof and bonnet... It suits the white, but IMO a gloss colour will be more suitable to your car...
