Re: Sputtering startup
Meh, hundred bucks and a DIY fix. Could be worse
Note it might not 100% be your battery... crack out the multimeter first.

Re: Sputtering startup
Starter is also an easy fix anyway, just battery is easier haha.
Could be heaps of things. I know my car gets a bit shuddery right after I fill it up, seems like injectors. Could very possibly be something like that but 99% likely is just battery so start there.
Start with simple stuff!

Re: Sputtering startup
Yeah, when it stutters it usually means the battery is starting to go, probably get an auto electrician to check yours, or use your own multimeter if you have one. Mine was covered under warranty and they replaced it for me which was pretty sweet. The standard FTO battery is fairly weak, so they suggested I use a larger one, especially if you have a sound system that draws a lot of power.

Re: Sputtering startup
CCA isn't necessarily the best way to determine how good a battery is, that's only a measurement related to temperature and amps output. I can go and get my book on batteries if you like

I fix cars.

Re: Sputtering startup
No point checking it. Might as well replace it for the cost. About $20 for a Z441 ryco. Plenum needs to come off and as Michael can confirm it is sometimes impossible to get off. I can lend a hand if youre keen though.

Have a peek down the back of the firewall. If its a goldy metal colour it's probably the stock one. If it's black it's been replaced at some stage.

To get access to the filter?Sahin wrote:Whaaaaa? Plenum doesn't need to come off
Sahin has just accepted a challenge of changing the fuel filter while the intake is still attached.
