Temp Gauge Issues...
So I've had this issue for a while and I've taken a few steps to fix it...
My gauge has a habit of sitting at the 1/2 to 3/4 mark, and when I go uphill or sit at a higher speed for a couple of minutes, it maxes out... Goes back down when I reduce RPM, reduce speed or switch my heater on...
This has been going on since I've owned the car. I've not actually had an overheating issue (no steam, leaks etc). I have replaced the thermostat and the radiator and it's STILL doing it... Is there a sensor or something to blame in this case?

Are fans switching on?
I had similar issue and was fixed when I replaced gauge side temp sensor. Replace that and the ECU side.
Related side note: don't ever drive a car with a temp gauge that is reading high or not working unless you don't care about it

The actual dash sensor and the coolant temp sensor are separate parts.Sahin wrote:Coolant temp sensor (gauge)
These ones I have don't actually have anything to do with the reading on the cluster.

Yeah all his fans etc are working. Im leaning towards temp sensor or faulty gauge as when I test drove other day it would climb to 3/4 fans would kick in im also gonna swap out any thermo just to be sure
