Tail light fuse keeps blowing
Damn tail light fuse keeps blowing and takes the dash lights out with it. I am guessing the tail light wire cluster has a short somewhere? Any idea how to narrow it down and find the culprit?

Hi have you had your tail lights out at all?just a thought as I had taken mine out to try fix a globe
and fuse kept blowing! After 5 fuses I pulled tail light back out and had squashed a wire
onto body of car that was blowing fuses

^I've done the same as bartyboo there, I put the light back in and kept blowing fuses, removed the light and saw that I had pinched a wire.

Yep, so have I and a number of others. Make sure the wires dont get caught between the back of the taillight and the metal.

Thanks.
I did take the lights assembly off to change the globes.
Will take them out and have a look again.

Re: Tail light fuse keeps blowing
Couldn't find any trace of wire touching the body near the tail light assembly. Also discovered that fuse now blows as soon as you plug it in even with the switch turned off. Could the light switch have conked and short itself?
Will check that this weekend. So far, one packet of fuse and counting

pfft!!
Well 100% its the switch... disconnected entire tail light assembly, both L and R, still fried the fuse as soon as I turned parkers on.
Surprisingly...it worked once (when tail light assembly was still connected). Then turned on car (didn't start engine) to roll windows down, and it started blowing the fuse again.

Re: Tail light fuse keeps blowing
The short could be anywhere. Just because it happens when you flick the switch, doesn't mean it's at the switch. Could be anywhere in the circuit. I'd start at the lamps & follow the loom back from there.
