You want it warm so it drains out quicker, and easier. Same story with the engine oil.
You'll get about half out during the drain, refill and drive for awhile (left mine for a week, even).. The new and old fluid will mix
Drain and refill again.. This will cleanse it further..
Imagine emptying half a bucket of muddy water, and refilling it with clean water.. 50/50 mix.
Repeat it again, and you'll end up with
mostly clean water...
Let the engine cool before throwing anything back in, too.. Just to be safe.
