Re: Res' 6a12m coupe
yeh bled it well and had no issues for ages of driving untill this week
will have to rebleed it when i put the thermostat back in, so it'll get done again, but if it is that then is sure took its time to be an issue

No thermostat can definitely cause overheating issues, I'd start there in that case. If not, then onto sensors and radiator and things like that.

no idea what killed it suddenly out of the blue but its not opening at all after a good long soak in boiling water

Once a thermostat is cooked, quite often its cooked for good and needs replacement.

I was referring to the fact that he was wondering why boiling water didn't fix it, unless I read it wrong

The Alice build.... procrastination at its best!
bought CF bonnet. wrapped it gloss black with cheap wrap that i had laying around, few creases cos cheap wrap :/
in any case i wanted to see if i could do it myself which i could if i had 3M, but i think i might see if i can get it wrapped
(and hopefully colour coded or close) by a profesh so its nice and white
tldr; bonnet will be wrapped white/colour code wrapped eventually, just didnt want to show CF while i drive.

Re: Res' 6a12m coupe
washed car...

have had this 1/2 size civic racing radiator for a little while now, need to tweak it a bit and make some lower mounts for it, but eventually it will go on the gearbox side and replace the way too big evo 3core rad

other things on the go:
ordered parts to make full braided fuel line and loop, my current one from the old motor only just reaches the new motor so need a longer one and figured why not upgrade and learn while at it
and am looking at getting some pushlock quick release bumper pins so i can get rid of the fender tab and have more suspension travel
also likely getting a new bride fixed back driver seat and recline able passenger seat

Re: Res' 6a12m coupe
not much news, been having help fixing wiring issues, and we blew up the fan diode on the ECU board.
so new ECU needed. otherwise progress is good, we just have the spastic idle/cold starting and mivec to fix now. then she'll be fully functioning

Idle/start will be injectors, TPS, or stepper.

Re: Res' 6a12m coupe
yeh, stepper is hunting, TPS needs testing, but i have a feeling its more of a vac leak issue combined with something else
it starts all good, it just wont hold a cold start unless the idle screw is wound out heaps, then once warm it idles too high
anyway, getting there slowly

Will be stepper then mate. Replace stepper, then adjust idle then adjust TPS.

Re: Res' 6a12m coupe
I have resided myself that i should just rewire my car with a full FTO loom, so im on the hunt for an uncut manual mivec loom in NSW.
just super keen to put wiring issues behind and just drive the coupe when ever i want
Needed a break from editing video..... so edited some photos instead
I need a new-new camera, I have already outgrown this entry level one, maybe i'll Santa myself at xmas time with something good

also purchased some triplet TB's for next to nothing to hold onto in the event i can use them in a year or so

Re: Res' 6a12m coupe
update time I guess, been fighting with wiring demons with the 6a12 swap for quite a few months now and finally gave in and decided its time to re-loom the whole car with an FTO loom. So thanks to a few people including your very own Sahin, I now have the whole loom I need. Soon i'll be re-looming the car and hopefully be problem free and running the digital climate control and FTO cluster
In other news, my friend Matt and I have been making a car modding DIY video series on YouTube if anyone wants to check it out.
We have currently got 2 episodes out and we will be releasing an episode every week on Mondays. Just something we felt like having a go at and its pretty fun to do so we plan to do it long term.
