Genuine GPX cambelt & tensioner from Mitsu NZ

Post by rxboy »

After reading all the helpful posts about the major service (thank you all who contributed), I decided to give NZ Mitsubishi a call.

I was surprised to get a quote even cheaper than the prices previously posted by members of this forum:
1) Genuine Mitsu cambelt for GPX (MD211195) - $NZD148
2) Hydraulic tensioner for GPX (MD308593) - $NZD95

Delivery is an extra $NZD20 with DHL and all prices are ex GST. So expect to pay an extra 10% once it arrives in Aus.

I'm sure you'll all agree that these prices are much cheaper than what Aus Mitsu is quoting.

If you're interested, call NZ Mitsu on 6442372408 and ask to speak to Phil Small.

PS: At the moment $AUD 1 is trading at about $NZD 1.10

Hey,

Also be aware that in addition to 10% GST you may be up for 15% import duty on top of the GST if your purchase is over $200.

Learnt that the hard way..................

Cheers

DOH 8O

Didn't know about any import duty and the package has already been picked up by DHL. But it will still end up costing less than the Aus prices.

Mitsu in Chadstone quoted me $208 for the cambelt and $228 for the tensioner.

Its probably cheaper over here because of the multitude of Japanese import cars we have here, which means that there are quite a few 6A12 powered cars on the road. Mitsubishi here have for many years now provided parts and support for non-NZ new cars, so these sorts of parts are quite commonly requested. We have them in the FTO, Galant, and Emeraude models, all of which are not hugely rare here.

Didn't stop them quoting me $750 + GST for a cambelt change on my old 6A12 VR-4 though at one of their dealer workshops (and that didn't include the water pump). Mind you that was better than their first quote of $1300 8O

The package arrived the next day after it was picked up from NZ 8O (bloody fast).

I didn't have to pay anything extra. No GST or import duties. So all up it cost me $AUD251

Now I'm laughing all the way to the bank
