Hey all,
Looking at getting some 17x7.5 wheels on the car, what sort of offset should i be looking at to get a more flush sorta look?
Cheers

This will help willtheyfit.com

What wheels exactly are you looking at? To get them flush with that sort of width is going to require a fairly low offset. e.g. I'm running 9 inch wide rims with a +22 offset, and they end up, with about -2 degrees camber in the rear, like this:

On the front, they do poke a little bit, and I'm running 235/45 tyres, so they will clip the guards (which are all rolled) around hard corners/bumps.
Basically, unless you've got coilovers and can adjust the height/camber to avoid that sort of thing, look for a width/offset that will mean the wheel/tyre can still travel up vertically uninhibited by the guards, haha. I reckon another 10mm or so back into the guards and I'd be fairly sure I'd clear.

Re: Wheels.
I'm just more interested in what will fit, as I'm pretty sure the VIC laws only allow 1 inch wider and bigger.

Yeah I'd comply with the laws in Vic I've heard they aren't too lenient down there

Re: Wheels.
So I should be looking for something with a smaller offset to poke out more?

That's the idea. e.g. The lower the number, the further away from the centre of the car the edge of the wheel will be.c0n13oX wrote:So I should be looking for something with a smaller offset to poke out more?
ed: bearing in mind, most offsets for that width don't go much lower than 30-35. Depends what you can find. So yeah, if you want it actually quite flush, you might have to go a bit wider, or use spacers. Neither of which are probably ideal for you if you want to avoid the legal stuff.

Re: Wheels.
If you felt like going a half inch wider than 7.5, could go something like these. A guy who imports mostly Mazda parts, but has few just general wheels as well. $931.

Re: Wheels.
Well, we have one sensible sized Tim down here in Adelaide already, how many makes a set?Daniel2019 wrote:sensible size set of tims

But yeah, probably don't need to go 9 inch like I did. Though I do like the bit of stretch with the 235's.

But both Sahin and Vectose are running 17x8 at about that offset, though IIRC Vectose will be going 235/40 for his next set of tyres.
