Air Con
Hey,
My Air Con is terrible, does not blow any cool air at all.
I was wondering how much it costs to regas it or to just replace the radiator?

Re: Air Con
As long as the system itself is sound (no leaks/damaged components), its just a regas. I think thats around $120. Do not run the aircon while there is no gas in it.

Re: Air Con
If there is no gas the air con shop will run a dye leak test. If there is no leak, then it's a simple refill as Dwayne mentioned. If there are components which are broken, compressor, evaporator, etc, that's when you are looking at good bills.

Try Acute Automotive/ Dean / 0412207814
I used his services and mine was the second FTO he serviced, almost 2 years ago, so he is decently familiar with them.
He has a call out fee, on top of the regas fees, so remember that.
Additionally, he might recommend a drier/filter change, the part number for the aircon filter is RNIS16.
You might want to make sure he has one in stock, before coming over for the regas.
More information of my experience with him here: http://ftoaustralia.com/v3/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=25482

Re: Air Con
If you open the ac system, you should be replacing the drier filter and tx valve along with new o rings I think.

All Ac systems disable the air compressor when gas gets low. It's a fail safe.dstocks wrote:As long as the system itself is sound (no leaks/damaged components), its just a regas. I think thats around $120. Do not run the aircon while there is no gas in it.
Regas goes for more about $180 these days.

There is nothing special about the Fto cooling system. It's the same for every other car.yotka wrote:Try Acute Automotive/ Dean / 0412207814

While we're on this topic: I had mine regassed early last year and the aircon works but barely on a hot day.
Is there a way we can make the aircon even colder?
