My name is Ryan, I'm 16 and I'm from Acacia Gardens, NSW.
Recently got a 1995 Mitsubishi FTO GPX (manual) as my second car. Currently on my L's.
It's had a few mods done to it. Puts out roughly 220-230hp. Car is very nice and clean, smooth to drive. Short shift needs to be fixed because sometimes I struggle to find 2nd gear. Other than that, no real complaints.
You guys got any tips or suggestions? And OF COURSE, what are some cheap ways to make me go faster?
It's what I was told from the previous owner. With two people in the car, it pulls a 0-100 in less than 7 seconds so it's not too bad.
What work's been done to it? vipfto here is putting about that much power on 8-9 psi with a TD04 (If I remember that correctly). The best NA set ups around here (aza, dstocks and others) top out at about 140kw atw.
- Hi flow cat back exhaust
- Ceramic Clutch
- Lightweight fly
- K&N panel filter (had a pod filter in it before. Pretty good power increase after swapping the filters)
- Running on BP Ultimate
Not sure about other mods. I know the car has been tuned by MRT Performance though.

It would be making about 125kw at the front wheels. Any more than that and you'll need to get a dyno sheet to prove it
Anyway, welcome to the club. You're close to our president Bennoz. Big bogan fella that's a real life aussie version of Homer Simpson
You may have seen a turbocharged red FTO flying around Acacia Gardens?
Lightweight flywheel you say? Tell me more, I've been looking into them for my engine build
I fix cars.

I have no idea about the flywheel. Just going off what the previous owner told me there. Hahaha. The only thing I have done to this car since I bought it, was put in the airbox and panel filter, empty out the boot, give it a wax and replace my melted cup holder (5 cent coin melted in)
Not sure about a turbo FTO? But I do know that near me (1-2 minutes away) there's a house with two FTO's in the driveway.
Won't be changing my clutch for a while. Car was serviced just two weeks ago with a full inspection. New timing belt put in too. The mech (Elite Autos) said the clutch was in very good condition and doesn't need to be replaced just yet.
