Just picked up the engine crane, picking up engine tomorrow morning

Hopefully if I pick it up on Monday it will be done by Sunday 24th!

Installed injectors, fuel rail, spark plug seals, swapped the bottom of the intake manifold around (they had it backwards), drained the oil, put on both rocker covers with new gaskets and put in coils and leads (no sparks yet - just to cover them up).

Not much else to do aside from chuck on the intake manifold, throttle when its in the car and flywheel + clutch and bolt up the box.

Still need to replace release bearing and put exhaust manifolds on.. but she's pretty much ready to go.

Bonfire? It has to be done within 3 weeks, I don't have a choice haha.

Me too. Has been a long journey but have also learned a lot.

Given my time and money again I wouldn't have, but hindsight is a bitch. Althought when it's all up and running properly I really don't think I'll regret anything.

Not wasted, just the fact that it has taken almost a year. The longer I have the car the more value I will be getting for it.

But I am getting my fulls next year.. and.. turbo and stuff..

Wouldn't turbo the FTO. Would sell it and get a VR4 galant or a 200sx or something.

Say NO to annual gearbox rebuilds

Sooooo...

Chucked my exhaust manifolds in vinegar overnight, cleaned them up then polished them, they look quite good. Had to replace timing belt as it was damaged while transporting it, big thank you to Fraz for that.

Whacked in the spark plugs (thanks to Craig for the lend of the spark plug socket), bolted up the intake manifold, coolant tower and shiny exhaust manifolds. Leads and plugs are in.

All that is left now is to get my release bearing (picking it up tomorrow) and get the flywheel machined and its ready for the gearbox to be bolted up and throw in the engine and box into the car after doing steering rack boots and CV joints (possibly not, have to have a look at my other pair of driveshafts).
