There's 3. Each one supplies 2 cylinders in a wasted spark system.

Are you sure because we have a 1997 model (its not a mivec) and the mechanic has said that he has swopped the back coils with the front ones, So he is telling us there is 6 coils all up one for each spark plug, but than we have other people telling us there is only 3 coils at the front :/

There are only 3 coils on all FTO models (except the 4cyl GS variant)sammy123 wrote:Are you sure because we have a 1997 model (its not a mivec) and the mechanic has said that he has swopped the back coils with the front ones, So he is telling us there is 6 coils all up one for each spark plug, but than we have other people telling us there is only 3 coils at the front :/
I think you need to find a new mechanic...

Okay awesome thanks for the help and also, we have had the same problem with the car for the past 2 years where the car will struggle and lose power whenever you go up hills or accelerate when on a gain to a higher or lower surface. We have had a second hand coil put in and also had all spark plugs replaced we have no idea if the original cords leading the coils to the engine have been replaced could this also be the problem?

Should have come to FTOAU earlier. Now you'll get some real help, some of the time

There are two types of people on forums; those that give helpful advice, and the others
