Still in Newcastle?
I have an engine I was going to keep as spare, but for the right price, you could buy it from me.
I have it stationed near Cessnock.
PM me with a price if you're interested.
It came from a running car, had a bit of tappet noise, on heavy throttle blew a bit of black smoke and the usual seals could do with a replace, probably best to replace all belts too, but that's easy with the engine out anyway.
There are others on the forum who can vouch for the engine and it being in reasonable condition.

Yep engine ran quite well. Plenty of powar for an auto and from memory can't think of any oil leaks. Bit of black smoke as mentioned. Best to replace seals and stuff as astron mentioned. But yeah, ran pretty decently.
I fix cars.

Yeah, the silver pos motor.
It does have the odd oil leak from the common seals, rocker cover, oil pan.
But yeah, probably best to do the whole lot, cam shaft seals etc.
Could whack it in and run, won't have any real issues, but best to replace all belts and at minimum the rocker and pan seal.
Any wrecker would tell you the same thing if you bought from them.
