I have just been notified that I have made it to finalist "Apprentice of the Year 2014" with CCGT.
I was nominated :D, then I had to submit a portfolio, then I made it to phone interview stage :D, now I have made it to finalist :P.
The winner will be announced @ the awards night.
The awards night is on Friday 1st November @ Mingara Club on the Central Coast, NSW.
My SA employers have offered to pay for 50% of my flight costs and have ok'd me for the Friday off.
Now I just have to decide whether I want to go. :?

Thanks all that have congratted me :D

My SA boss took me aside today and told me that the company has changed their minds about paying 50% of my airfares....

Instead they booked and payed for 100% of my airfares + 100% of Sue's airfares too  They booked Stevens airfares too, but I have to reimburse them for his tickets.
They also offered to pay for our accomodation if we required it.
How awesome is that! :P
FTOwnage wrote:Can people spectate :D ?
Sorry, but this one is by invitation only.
My ticket is free, Sue's ticket cost $30.

Just to finish off this story...
I went to the awards night on the Central Coast, Friday night.
I did not win Apprentice of the Year, but it still felt great being up on stage in front of 300 people accepting my finalist certificate. I got a mahoosive cheer from the audience. 8)
I drank as much of the free beer as I could, I got 2 schooners at each of my 10 visits to the bar :drunken:
Went up to the club after and drank Jim Beams till 3am.

Will post official pics if and when they become available.

Congrats Phil.

btw, is this like the miss universe thing, where if the winner mysteriously disappears... the runner up gets crowned , then etc etc... ?
cos you know... we could arrange for some accidents to happen... you know... with the work places and all..

heheheh jk.
