Headlight Baking

Hey all,


Wanting to bake my headlights to remove the lenses. Does anybody have any experience with this? It's not exactly something I want to mess up... Any recommended temperatures, times and methods? I see the lenses are held on with some clips as well, how do I navigate these?

its a glue that heats up and u just pry the lenses over the clips.
i did it the other day
if u do a search ull find the correct times and temps, i checked mine a few times before it was easy enough to just pry off with a screw driver
Because nothing is faster than a p plater in a commodore.....
except maybe a p plater on a unicorn

Putting the headlights in the oven is really not that scary, just need to take a bit of care. My tips are:
*Put the headlights into a cold oven, don't preheat the oven
*Keep the oven on the lowest possible temperature setting
*Put the headlight at the bottom of the oven, this should be the coolest position. If your oven has a bottom heating element, don't switch it on
*Put the headlight on something like a cork or silicon heat mat or even just a tea towel, avoid metal
*Do one headlight at a time
*If your oven is very 'fast' you can place a baking tray in the middle of the oven, so that your headlight is in the 'shade' underneath, just make sure they don't touch

And most of all, just be patient. You want to give it some time for the whole unit to heat up evenly.

Oh, and bake some cookies while you are there. Everyone likes cookies.

u can also just use a heat gun instead if uve got one

100 degrees ( or slightly less) for 15 minutes. Dont put them lens down or itll burn them.For that matter make sure no part of the lense is touching the oven surface.

    I set my oven to 150 C, put the light in while the oven is cold (i.e. no pre heating), then just check on them every couple mins after 10.
