Could be worse though - the topic could have been about Male Drivers vs Female Drivers - now that would have been a hot one! 8O 8O 8O 8O

yellow

Post by elmo »

Purely psychological.
Red makes the driver drive faster.
yellow makes the driver more agressive.

Actually, I have read a study that said red cars have the most accidents and white cars have the least accidents... Driver vision or driver agression - go figure    8)

Are we talking about the figures released by an Insurance company (believe it was AAMI) the other week? From memory, I believe it showed that drivers of red cars made the most claims last year. :o

Imagine what Dannyboy could do if he painted his FTO red !

On another note about the white cars....I had a friend who swore they could never see white cars on the road. I passed them driving down the street one day and waved at them (I was in a white car) and they didn't see me.

Oh and the cop cars in the Perisher region have all gone for bright colours (like the colours the new monaro's come in) so that they can be seen due to all the white snow about.

I believe Bright Orange is actually the safest car colour, then white, with black coming last - due to visibility at night I think the reasons were.

But lets get back to talking about how crap women drivers are (always backing into posts) hehehe ;)

colours

Post by elmo »

orange is the easiest colour for the human eye to detect. That is why we use it for warning lights, stop lights etc.
The cricketers and others also use orange glasses which basically brightens the image. Almost vision enhancing type. I use them when I fly and reckon it helps.

Now if the colour things follow suit, then why so many accidents?

People in placid white cars freak out when they see a nice bright red one cruising along and feel the need to hit them?
