Congrats Phil, hope all goes well for you and it sounds like you've got your head screwed on right.

Tooling.. where do I start?
Is it just me or are others like a kid in a lollie shop when it come to shopping for any new ones?

I've seen some SP tools over this side of the ditch, they do look like quality stuff but I've never bought any yet.
As for Snap on / snap off, used em, hate em, seen them break (split sockets being the most common) ain't worth gob shite as far as I'm concerned.
They are great at marketing and only make average tools at a high price.

Kokin make some quality sockets and tooling, got a few odd ball sockets in their range, they've taken some abuse I thrown at them over the years.
I had to turn down an 18mm long reach to fit inside a Ducati head once, mongrel access, mongel specific tooling required so I just turned one down as far as I dare at the time, it's still working to this day and the wall thickness is less that a 3mm. (quality steel me thinks)

My main is Powerbuilt tooling (same lifetime warranty as SP by the sounds of it) with heaps of other weird and wonderfull stuff one collects over the years, 900mm breaker bar was my last purchase, cost me an arm and a leg at the time but it's got me out of jail too many times already and I wonder how I ever got by without it. I've even got a length of 7075/6 T6 ali tube (aircraft ali) that I slide over the end to give me 6 foot leaverage when ever needed.

I wouldn't say powerbuilt is the best (still looking for that) but it ain't too bad.
I'm in the quality tools camp, spend it once, look after it and it'll last a life time.

3k feck I'd hate to be starting out again.
Apprents... Seen em loaded up with all sorts of stuff, funny as and it's the same over here too. It appears to be the modern way now, I dunno why they do it, they will wake up one day and realise they don't really need it all to start with.
That 4k to 5k (over here it's 6k to 8k) will end up costing them 10k to 12k easy.

Arrr tool shopping...... right next to beer shopping, drink up lads :)
Beer, it saved the world! I'll drink to that Image

Awards night was on Friday night.
I did not win the top prize in my year :(
All other finalists from my employers tables and other employers tables got whistles and screams as they walked to the stage, I only got quite claps. Bunch of wankers
But I received my laminated piece of cardboard for being a finalist :P
Was a good night anyway, free piss from 6:30PM - 12:00AM. I just kept suckin in the freebies all night :cheeky:

Pics.........If your interested

Thanks everyone, it's a great feeling to be rewarded for my hard work and high test scores. :D

I have decided to go to the reward night in Kurri because my SA employers are shouting me the airfares. They are booking the flights for me and will send me the tickets. :P

I will have to look into secure parking for my FTO in Adelaide for a couple of days.
I will be leaving Adelaide around 10am Wednesday 18th and returning to Adelaide Friday afternoon.
I might have time for a Friday night meet in Adelaide ;) , depending on how well Sue is coping.

5:30pm start at Kurri TAFE on the 18th, unsure were to stay Wed night but will be staying at my oldies in Sydney on Thurs night.

I might hire a car for the 3 days or I might just borrow my mums car or I might just borrow Smurf
