I don't want to shoot this down, but I'd have to question what benefit this would give as many parts of modern car engines (including the FTO) are non-ferrous and therefore won't be attracted to a magnet.

Older engines used a lot of ferrous metals, whereas newer engines use non-ferrous materials as they have far better anti-corrosion properties.

Using good oil, a good oil filter and regular servicing should be sufficient.

If anyone can shed more light on this, it would be good.

I use one on my family car and my Zed race car and tow car. After seeing one cut open after it was installed on my oil cooler on my zed I was convinced. Seeing is believing. It extends life of oil filter and engine. It keeps oil pressure more consistent as prevent oil filter blocking as fast.
Also it grabs alloys and even dirt as magnetic metals such as mild steel impregnates other materials that are not magnetic. I saw a filter that came off a speedway car and had rings of dirt and metal on the inside of the filter.
Considering it lasts forever it is a one of purchase. If anyone has trouble sourcing them we now sell them.
