Post by Aspenmai »

Did anyone read the article comparing manual and autos FTOs in the latest HPI (the one with the R34s on the front)?

What do you all think? I'm a tipt owner thinking of getting a manual now :D

I haven't seen the article, but I've owned both Tiptronic and now manual. Aside from my natural bias towards a manual car, I have to say, it's so much nicer to drive the manual. It may be my imagination but I feel the acceleration is far better too in my manual. Having total clutch control is much better too than a computer controlled quick gear change as in the tiptronic.

That was a good article, they love the fto's manual gearbox, and give a great wrap on the tip gearbox too, they also posted a dyno comparison of the too, and was astounded that the tip did not have much less power.
They also mention that these days a manual fto is worth around 8k more which suprised me, didnt know they were getting that rare
