I have recently acquired a '98 FTO GPX that needs some lovin...
My lovely wife bought it for my upcoming b'day.
It's fairly straight with a few dodgy repairs which I plan to strip right back and start fresh.
My issue is while the car itself was quite cheap $1000.... The engine drives ok but I think it was driven like it was stolen for a long time, seems to have a knock in bottom end, losing coolant (but no puddles) and while there is no evidence on the dipstick there is a little bit of brown sludge on 710 cap (lol little blonde joke sorry)
I am researching alternatives to either rebuild/repair existing mivec and try to boost it, Or go for a conversion to something like a 6a13tt...
Any suggestions will be fantastic.
